Re: Toolpath for roundover
The rail for the roundover moulding cut is offset to the inside of the edge by the width of the arc used for the profile. I add a tail at the bottom and used a zero boundary offset to compensate for the width of the bit as it goes over the edge. The width of the tail is not included. So, in the exam...

Re: Drilling and sanding on rotary axis
I've even designed then in Rhino and then ported them over to Aspire and that works pretty good too. It is still not a lathe, it does not work like one, at all. I can make a pen with a carving knife, that does not make the carving knife a lathe. All I'm trying to say is that cutting a pen on a cnc ...

Re: Drilling and sanding on rotary axis
A rotary axis is not an indexer is not a lathe. They are distinct machines. I have sanded on mine though. I just did an MDI of about 200,000 degrees with a high feedrate. Worked good. Have also done that to apply a nice finish. If you are actually going to do pens you are better off buying a small ...

Try this one. If it works better I'll explain how I did it. I lengthened the material by 2" to stay within your dimensions.

Re: Surfacing spoilbaord
Make sure you have z-zero set to the same location in the software and on the machine (controller) Either surface of the material or surface of the spoilboard is okay but both must be the same.

Re: Distance Between 2 Vectors
Using the line drawing tools, draw a line, vertical, horizontal, diagonal. etc. with a length equal to the distance you want the circles to be apart. Open the circle tool and enter the dimension of the circles and then click on each end of the line. If you want the circles to be a different size, ch...

Re: Large Circle -
You're probably going to need to use the "Tiling Toolpath" on the toolpath tab. Click on it and press "F1" and the help file will tell you how to use it.

Re: V12 COMING APRIL 2024 🎉
WOW I have no problem with prices increasing, I understand it after all its been 400 for years. But you are punishing the loyal upgraders and rewarding the ones that don't upgrade each time. Upgrade price for everyone should be the same. It is!. If you upgrade to version 11.5 now, from any version,...

Re: V12 COMING APRIL 2024 🎉
The way I understand Stephanie's explanation is that if you have an older version, say version 8, then you can upgrade to version 11.5 now and it will only cost you $400.00. If you wait until version 12 is released and then the upgrade, from any version, will cost $450.00. If you upgrade to version ...

Re: Hello Aspire Patriots... I can use a nudge with aspire tools
If you select the medium circle then the array copy tool it will give you the center coordinates of the selected circle. Remember these coordinates. Then I would draw a vertical line between the top large circle and medium circle. Drag the small circle from its center point and let it snap to the mi...

Re: Profile Toolpath - Allowance offset
This was copied from the help file: Allowance offset An Allowance can be specified to either Overcut (negative number will cut smaller) or Undercut (positive numbers will cut larger) the selected shape. If the Allowance = 0 then the toolpaths will machine to the exact size. Click on the question mar...

Spiral rewind
I'm doing a rotary 3d project with a continuous spiral toolpath along with two additional toolpaths. One of which is v-carved lettering. All toolpaths are saved to one file. It makes about 15K revolutions for the spiral and then, after the tool change, the spindle moves into position for the next cu...
