Re: Collette Nut

Ok, this is not meant as a snark, but. . . .

With a machine like that balanced nuts are a waste of good money.

Not dissing your machine, cause ANY cnc machine is better than no cnc machine.

Going around corner noises are pretty normal, so do not sweat it.

Re: Considering Vcarve

I do not use Solidworks, Rhino here. I design everything in Rhino. Love being able to roll a model around in real time. Check how other items fit, etc. A lot of the time the parts are flat, like yours appear to be. I have two choices, I can save the vectors I used to create them. That get messy real...

What will viewing the vectors on the tool preview do for you?

Re: UCCNC & Rotary Control

Just a bit of information for anyone following this thread. I am not all annoyed over this situation at all. I am annoyed that someone who did not have a clue posted on the internet that the latest version of Vectric would solve this problem, when in fact, it does not. If a person does not know for ...

Re: UCCNC & Rotary Control

Greolt: I was hoping you would weigh in. Thanks. I am sure our setups are a bit different. I included the following screen shots so you can get a look: X Axis X Axis Setup.png A Axis Rotary A Setup.png Notice that the velocity on A is much higher than you mentioned above. If I set 5000 like yours, i...

Re: UCCNC & Rotary Control

Mark, thanks for taking an interest in this "issue". I am using an Avid Wrap Y post processor that I have modified. Essentially removing all the stuff not needed when doing rotary. For instance, highly doubtful I am going to do any helix milling while in rotary. Did some more testing this morning, I...

Re: text cutting backwards

The solution will probably be in the pin settings for the stepper drivers. Replacing a BOB can definitely cause this sort of problem, you need to head into the setup stuff to see what is what. Edit, it is also possible to have a few wires to the motors reversed. On stepper motors there are pulse wir...

Re: Vcarve Help Troubleshoot

What is, Vcarve Pro 11.016: "Help/troubleshoot/Enable Hang Detection"? My guess, and only a guess, is that it is a tool for detecting software "hangs" which used to be known as endless loops. These days I believe it is a thread that watches the other threads for errant behavior. But I am just guess...

UCCNC & Rotary Control

As I have posted elsewhere, I have been rebuilding my machine the last few weeks. Everything is coming along pretty well, except . . . . UCCNC and the rotary axis. I was under the impression that UCCNC supported rotary axis. That may not be the case. For the last two days I have been slogging along ...

Re: No suitable parts to nest

My interpretation of that info about open vectors is that you can have open vectors within a closed boundary.

There is no way to nest an open shape/vector.

Re: Resize STL model

Definitely at import time. I did a test of importing a model that was 100mm and then scaling it to 500mm at import and after. The one that was scaled at import was significantly higher quality. I presume that's because it's taking up more of the material space on creation so has far more pixels mak...

You cannot have a closed vector with a T intersection. Not logically possible.

Re: Disable popups for successful operations?

I love the fact that everybody knows how software should be written. But all those people don't own a software company. And yes you do sound argumentative. I think it is called being passive-aggressive. Oh no.I'm not being argumentative as I argue along. Amazing my finger has survived all these years...
