Looking for contact around Springdale, Newfoundland

Hi Guys. If this post is not appropriate, please feel free to remove. I have been asked to quote an oval sign 3' x 2' V carved and painted. I'd like to refer this job to someone closer to the clients location, which is in Newfoundland. Is there anyone on the rock that would be interested? If so, e-m...

Threading Gadget

Hi Guys. I finally got around to testing out Paul Rowntree's threading gadget(yes, I know it's only taken 2 years to get at it). I had purchased the tooling shortly after he released the original gadget, but it was put on the back burner, and today I was in the shop(suppose to be quoting) but I spot...

Material setup-rough material thicker than finish hieght.

I'm trying to find the tutorial that covers the material setup. I have a piece of stock that is .375" thick, and I want to skim it down to .312" , but I want to take it in 2 passes, the last pass being .005"(for surface finish reasons) For some reason, I cannot figure out ow to setup the material to...

"Error:script is not a valid compiled gadget"

I don't use the Celtic weave gadget very often, but I do have a job that I can use it on now. I tried to start it yesterday, but I get the above error. I'm not sure why. I tried it in both ver 4.5 and ver 8, but I get the same error message. I think the gadget comes pre installed(just a guess, since...

Re: Setup Sheet gadget problems

Thanks for the explanation Adrian.

I'm not that computer literate enough that I would try to modify the gadget myself.

Re: Setup Sheet gadget problems

Hi Brian.

I guess that I was mistaken. I thought that the revised setup sheets where going to be customize-able. (like adding a company logo etc.)

I saw the setup folder in the gadgets folder, and wrongly assumed it had been made into a gadget.

My mistake.

Setup Sheet gadget problems

Hi.

I was anxious to try the upgraded setup sheet LUA, but I'm not having much luck. I click on the gadget, but nothing seems to happen.

Am I missing a step somewhere?

Re: Metallic silver material suggestion request

Most engraving stock companies have two different products for engraving. One is for rotary engraving(usually a thicker cap) and the other for Laser or Rotary use(thinner cap) If you plan to purchase material, it's something to keep in mind. I did use allot of Rowmark material at one time, but I swi...

Re: "Rest" machining tutorials?

I have to say "Aye" to that. Having worked for many years in teh CNC metal industry, I do miss the "rest" machine and pencil pass options. Cimitron had a "follow along contour" (outside in, or inside out) option, that made the cleaning of the remaining areas fast and efficient. I do realize that we a...

"Rest" machining tutorials?

Is there a new rest machining tutorial or is the older version still available?
