Re: Cutting too deep
If you are using stepper motors it sounds like you are loosing steps on your z axis, check for binding or something that is keeping it from running free.

Re: Edges being cut but nothing else
Where are you setting Z-0 in PVC, top or bottom? Mach will only do as it's told in your g code. I have never seen Vectric's PVC, or aspire get it wrong, unless it was the inputs I gave it. Re: structure sensor
hi Allen I've been using autodesk 123 catch (free) to do the same thing as they are doing for alot more money. All you need is a camera, take about 20 to 30 pictures all the way around the object, download it to their website (the downloading is automatic as part of the program) and in a few minutes...

If none of the above work, try turning your acceleration and speed down in motor tuning, after building my own cnc I can sympathize with your frustration, but in my case it was just a case of getting the accel and speed right for my machine.

Re: vac press part1
I made a vacuum press a few years ago as I had some odd shaped parts to veneer, I had the same problem, until one day my mom came over and I mentioned it, she suggested the fabric store (she was a seamstress) they had some nice heavy vinyl by the meter (not cheap) but it was exactly what I needed an...

Re: Electronic tool touch off plates... What? Where? How?
I've made a switch for my touch off so I can use it with a diamond drag or any non metalic cutter. It is accurate to within .0001, not the best but I can live with it, installed an led to make sure it is working (I get a little paranoid like Paul)

I like it. Has that Maloof flavour to it. Now if it were filled with; umm; lets say worthers original and on my coffee table I might just like it even more.
