Re: Crude segments to circles how to make one entity and smooth?

Can you not simply draw circles in Vcarve & replace the imported DXF circles? Or try a different export file format that vcarve accepts if SketchUp has one

Re: Bitmap fitting

I would do the same as Adrian & just use the manual drawing tools to create my vectors, yes it is a skill that takes a little time to learn but you might be surprised at just how quickly you can work once you have practiced a bit. If you look at dealguy11 post each of them only took him a couple of ...

Re: using an existing design how to automaticlly increase the cut size

While it is easy to scale up or down a project & then recalculate the toolpaths another point to note along with adze_cnc's comments about joinery is that you may also need to change the V bit you are using for any vcarve/engraving toolpaths

Re: Triquetra zero

I'm not familiar with the shark control software which I believe is proprietary but the touch plate is just an input device so I wouldn't have thought it would be to difficult to get that to work with the shark machine. May require a particular sort of plug fitted to the touch plate so you can plug ...

Re: Longs Stepper Motors model 23HS1435

As has been said stepper motors have no holding torque with no power on the machine, if you can't move the z axis up or down with power on the machine then replacing them may have very little if any effect. I would start by looking at your ballscrew/leadscrew/rack & pinion for the axis as any wear i...

Re: 10.56 to 11.5

Not quite sure how you have ended up purchasing all of them as Vectric have a very good upgrade policy, you should have only paid the difference between the different versions when you upgraded. It's been that way from the start as far as I am aware. The only exception I believe id photovcarve which...

Re: Radios shape patio door molding

The moulding toolpath will cut curves as well as straight sections. As for the 2 rail sweep what machining strategy are you using? If it's not cutting the way you would like then try the raster strategy & change the raster angle   You would be able to machine that with a larger tool than 1...

Re: Trouble with Rails

If you are working in 3D then the modeling resolution you set during job set up will make a huge difference to the components you create especially as the working area increases in size if you are working in 2D with just vectors it won't make any difference at all. There is a tutorial on modelling r...

I would probably try slowing it down first as has been suggested, I always run an endmill down the slot first but that means a bit change

Re: Keyhole bits keep breaking

Are you running an endmill first or are you just using the keyhole bit? I tend to run an endmill first to remove the bulk of the material.
What is your plunge rate if you are not using an endmill first? You are driving the bit quite deep into the material

Re: Can SVG's be uploaded and used in Pro?

How are you creating the files you want to import? SVG would not be the best format if the files contain only bitmap data, I don't have the software on this computer to check but you may find that the bitmap data will not import into Vectric software. This may depend on the program used to export th...
