Re: Rotary...Can I cut below the rotation axis?
I would not do that as a rotary job. I think that is a better candidate for segmenting and slicing. From the Help file: The Segment tool can be used to split a 3D model into separate chunks or segments to allow them to be machined using a 3-axis CNC machine. To get to the segmenting tool you first h...

Re: Deep V Groove
You may wish to review how the bit is mounted in the collet. I would expect more clearance between the cutting portion of the bit and the collet nut. The shank of the bit should not go past then top of the collet.

Re: Spiral rewind
WinCNC responded and explained: The small green box to the right of the A axis position indicates a material offset. The L28/L28.1 restores the machine zero but doesn't clear material offsets. You can remove that offset using a G92.1A command and that should get the L28.1 command working as expected...

Re: Spiral rewind
A few more test show that sometimes it works, sometimes it sorta works, and other times it completely messes up.
I'll keep experimenting.
I repeated the first test I did and now it works. Maybe L28.1 just needed to warm up.
Curiouser and curiouser.

Re: Spiral rewind
Experimenting with L28.1 on my WinCNC 3.1.00 setup did not behave as documented. I zeroed my A axis I executed G1 A527 I executed L28.1 and the A axis reset to a number where at least the first digit was cut off and the rest of the display Screenshot 2024-03-19 195117.jpg I tried a G0 A0 but killed ...

Re: Rotary...Can I cut below the rotation axis?
Vectric's wrapped method of rotary machining does not support machining below the centerline. Depending on the design it may be possible to do this with 2 or 4 sided machining, perhaps in conjunction with a rotary job. Another approach is slicing where different parts of the design are cut and then ...

Re: CNC Cut File for 3D Unicorn ASAP Please
FYI, VCarve can handle this job if it is just a matter of slicing. I'm curious why you are looking for others to generate toolpaths rather than learning to do it yourself. Are you under a time constraint? Have you done projects like this before, or are you new to CNC? How will you hold the material ...

Do I have a bug, Probably not dio I need a reboot ? That's not a bad idea. However, we really need to see your file to help you out. Can you post the CRV3D or CRV file? That will eliminate a lot of guessing. To upload a file/photo: Click on the Upload attachment button below the message area Click ...

Re: I can use a hand up on an obstacle
One approach:
In node editing change any arcs to beziers. Change any points to smooth points. Drag the handles of the beziers as needed.

Re: Model import
The rod is not on the import model if I look at it in fusion, how does one prevent the Aspire from adding it? The rod is the centerline that Vectric displays to remind you that the model must cover the centerline, and that you cannot machine past the centerline. The space between the legs is proble...
