Re: Powermatic U Disk

As stated above, AXIOM and Powermatic are similarly built machines painted different colors. The AXIOM"s have used v...

Re: Aspire Trial Version?
Thanks, that's basically what I was understanding about it. You have full use of all design use functions of the program, but you can't make it since it won't let you save it to a TAP file. So, the only way you're going to see if you are happy with the final output is to purchase it. I was wonderin...

Re: Hole sizes are too big after using "offset vectors" tool
A point of clarification... No CNC machine is capable of cutting circles. They are only capable of cutting in a straight line from the current point to the next point given in the code. Of course these straight line segments are very short and we humans interpret them as circles. These segments are ...

Re: Adding 4 flats at 90 degrees after rotary machining
Yes, but you would need 2 job setups. You used to be able to set it up as a single job, but in an effort to protect us from ourselves, we can no longer use both 3 axis and rotary postP's in the same file.

Re: Mysterious concentric witness marks with raster toolpath???
The reason this is happening is similar to why gravel roads will become washboard. Slack in the Z mechanics or flex in the table, or both will be the cause. The bit is traveling faster than it can with ease, so it pushes up til it breaks thru, then falls down. That said..... I have seen this in the ...

You may be able to read the tool info directly from the file depending on which info SS has chosen to put in the file. Here is a shot of the info header from one I developed back in the day:
