Re: Prototype CNC Machine

Hi Martin, I am planning to use the TB6600 Stepper Motion Driver/Controller paired up with NEMA 17 motors. I have not , as yet decided what to marry up with my Arduino ... but, at the moment, I am looking at the CNC Shied A4988 DRV8825 Most of these components are quite inexpensive .... so I feel I ...

Re: Prototype CNC Machine

Thanks Martin, I think, because I have never attempted to do it, I am a little nervous about the final part of getting the creation to actually perform.. I have been reading and watching various reports and videos... I am slowly building up my skills by following, and constructing for myself, fairly...

Re: Prototype CNC Machine

Thanks Martin, The prototype started life as quite a simple mechanical/electrical device to do a load of "kerf" cuts along the length of some shaped plywood.... and somehow expanded into a full blown CNC. I am O.K. as far as the mechanical/electrical bits and bobs but I feel I have a lot to learn ab...

Prototype CNC Machine

Hi Everybody, Currently I am building a prototype CN machine. I have two questions .... 1.....Does my current licence fee allow me to prepare files for two machines? 2 ....Has any member any experience of controlling a home build cnc machine? I am a considerable way, time wise, from actually doing a...

Re: Ships Bell from 2021 UGM

Very nice piece of work I especially like the way you have machined the bell pivot ... this really does look good. My one problem ... are you sure that callers will know to operate it? Is it sufficiently "touch sensitive" enough to overcome the urge to pull the rope to ring the bell .... or does it ...

Re: Bolt-on Lasers

Thanks John ... food for though! My workshop is quite small so if I go for "Lasering" it really has to be a "bolt-on" option .... If I had the space I would most likely go for a stand alone machine. I am a hobbyist but do take things quite seriously ... and the cost of good equipment is not too limi...

Re: Bolt-on Lasers

Hi everybody, Being laid up at the moment ... broken bone in my foot! I am thinking of spending this downtime investigation the possibility of adding a decent bolt on laser to my " Heitz High Z CNC Machine". I would appreciate any help. I do not wish for anything too cheap and cheerful but value for...
