I use the overhanging section of the Stinger to engrave on the edges of some of the cutting boards that I make. I made a fixture that makes it easy to clamp them vertically.

Re: Fluted tapered legs tutorial?
if you have modeled the leg as a 3D component using the wrapping function then you can create 2D vectors for the flutes placed as desired. You can then toolpath them as profile ON the vectors and check the Project toolpath onto 3D model. The preview in Aspire will let you check the results. Flutes m...

Re: Canoe fluting help
Here is another way to accomplish it. You will have to sand the ends to get them rounded though.

Re: Moving lines of text
You can select the text block and then right click on it to show a menu with the options. In about the middle of the menu is the option to break text block into lines. If you click on that then each line can then be curved or moved individually.

Re: Pocket toolpath question
It is because of the start depth that you have selected that this is happening. The software is calculating the final pocket based on only .005 inches of the ball nose cutting to the vector, however the rest of the ball nose is still there and will cut away as you are seeing. A solution would be to ...

Re: Fluting help
The fluting toolpath is not designed to start at the bottom and then go up from there. There are some ways that I could see it done though. One is to use Paul Rowntree's Fluteplus gadget. Another is to start the flute off the part and make the bottom of the ramp start at the middle of the flute and ...

Re: Intarsia Strategy
Piet In WinCNC you can load the toolpath and view it on the screen without turning on the spindle. Load the toolpath and then press the eyeball icon at the top of the screen. The cut path will be shown as well as the current spindle location. The cut path shown will be the centre of the tool and the...

Re: FONTS
The list of single line fonts that are supplied in VCarve is fixed. However the true type fonts are just windows fonts that are accessed from your windows system.

Re: Moulding Skip Flat Region Not Skipping
Make sure the flat areas are perfectly flat and level or you will get the results that you are seeing. On your profile vector select the two nodes at he edges of the flat area and click Y to make them identical in that direction. That will move the second node selected to be the same position as the...

Re: Allowance Offset & Last Pass Question
On the profile toolpath tab there is a section called Machine Vectors. In this section is a data entry box for Allowance offset. This Allowance offset is what is respected by the Last Pass calculation. In the next section called Last Pass, there is a data entry box for Allowance (A). This is where y...

Re: Taper toolpaths
You can do this using a two rail sweep or the Extrude and Weave tool. For the Extrude and Weave tool, create your centreline drive rail and then create some cross section vectors for the ends and the middle. The cross sections must be open vectors, just the sides and the top. Select the drive rail a...
