when I built my Joes2006 in 2007 I used 1/2- 2 start went to a 1/2- 5 start what a difference faster and smoother .

WII ACK-ACK ANNIE.jpg I mocked up a lithophane for grins . To get the resolution I used ballnose setting of 0.031 ( ball nose setting but would actually use Vbit) 11x10 lithophane would take 24 hours or more 22x20 lithophane 0.125 little faster ... I would find better picture of ACK-ACK ANNIE this ...

Just tell vectric software you are using 0.03 ball nose but use vbit instead

Here is tutorial on oval lithophane in PVC it has all the steps to make great lithophane in Photo V Carve

I would would create the lithophane out of the picture with background already included. To get the depth of field/3d effect I find it best on .25 corian to go to cut depth of .21. bottom line is you want 0.04 to get the whites to really show up. Of course you create something that can break easy( so thin) also make sure your corian is .25 or zero from the table making sure you leave 0....
