Re: v12 toolpath templates very slow.
I'm not seeing that behaviour. I timed one of my usual 11 sheet jobs and it took pretty much the same time in both.

Re: Working with converted DNW file
In that case there are no vectors as it's a component so you need the 3D roughing and finishing toolpaths rather than any of the vector based toolpaths.
Whether that is the most efficient/sensible way to cut it is hard to say without seeing it.

Re: Plug corners are not sharp
A 1mm (0.04") tip is pretty tiny :) Isn't the tool supposed to pull out of the wood in Z to get the detail required? Yes but you're using a start depth. It would be a sharp point if you didn't have the start depth but as far as the software is concerned there is no material above where you're cutti...

You won't get a sharp corner with a ball nose bit of that size I wouldn't have thought.

Re: Working with converted DNW file
What did you convert the file to? If you converted it to a 3D format like STL then it will be a 3D component after importing and you will need to use a 3D Roughing and Finishing toolpath on it. Sounds like a pretty simple shape (could be wrong without seeing a picture though) so I would just create ...

Re: Is there a trick to getting a bowl bit finish pass?
It's because you're using a start depth combined with a cut depth that is less than the radius of the bit. That means that the effective width of the tool is far less than the actual width (around 0.5" vs 0.75") so it cuts "over" the line. The software assumes there is no material above the start de...

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)
You can change both of those if you want but in the case of the 3D you will lose some of the new functionality. In both cases you need to go to Options on the Edit menu. To restore the old 3D mouse behaviour set "View controls mode" under "3D View Settings" to "Legacy" making sure to read the notes ...

Re: Edit text spacing on a curve can not find
It's part of the text tool now. If you have the text tool active then the kerning, spacing and curve functions are all active as though you were using the old tool.

Re: Aspire 12 and CNC on different computers
Personally I have nothing running on my CNC control computer other than the controller software. I do all my design work in the office and the toolpath files are accessed across the network when I'm ready to cut. You could do that or install Aspire 12 on both machines or move it all to one. It reall...

Re: V12 ToolPath Preview Hard to See
If you could provide some pictures of what you're seeing it would help to offer some ideas. I still don't understand why you're seeing a difference between a profile toolpath and a pocket toolpath. They use the same colour and weight of line. I would look at the display scaling but it's a guess with...

You can't save from a newer version to an older version generally but sometimes minor releases are unaffected.
You can always open older files in newer versions though.

Re: Line and Text Spacing
As said above kerning has been combined into the Text Tool. The separate tool has been removed. All works the same as before you just have to have the text tool active. Makes sense as most of the time you will be editing and kerning text at the same time. The interactive text curve tool is now part ...

That's the Draw Arc tool not the Draw Curve tool. The Draw Curve tool was removed in V12.Tex_Lawrence wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 12:37 pmIn Vcarve Pro, the draw curve tool is right between the Draw Line / Polyline tool and the Freehand tool in Create Vector panel.
