You may wish to review how the bit is mounted in the collet. I would expect more clearance between the cutting portion of the bit and the collet nut. The shank of the bit should not go past then top of the collet.

A few more test show that sometimes it works, sometimes it sorta works, and other times it completely messes up.

I'll keep experimenting.

I repeated the first test I did and now it works. Maybe L28.1 just needed to warm up.
