Quit all software. Turn the machine off. Turn the computer off. Wait a couple of minutes. Turn everything back on. If that does not work then, most likely, there is a machine problem.

More likely than not the file you received was created in a pirated copy of 4.5. Legitimate copies of the software will not open them. They can only be opened with the pirated copy!
