Re: Shark Pro
I dont know of any shark forum, but the reality is that it is a good little machine that cuts very nice, I have had mine for about a year. I learned everything on this forum and have V-Carve 5 and Aspire. The forums on here will help you find the bits you need and for the most part you can either cr...

Re: Learning new tricks from user group meeting
Phil, what I am refering to is the way the top panellooks like it folds back in much the same way that a piece of cloth is folded, James called this a linen fold. This example hed to be done just a little different based on the original art work and it was different in the fact that the top panel en...

Learning new tricks from user group meeting
Went to Dallas and had a great time, James was an excellent instructor and I picked up a ton of information. I will start cutting this tommorow, but it is my first 3D project after the meeting. If it cuts out nice, it will be displayed at the local police station where they have a memorial wall for ...

Vector Art 3D
Forgot to ask James at the user group meeting about the vector art 3d formats. My question is which format would be the best for downloading for use with Aspire? After learning how to cut one of these apart to use as a component I have a few I would like to get to save me some time but I see three d...

Re: Wildlife Scene in Spalted Maple.
Thats very nice work, wish I could find highly figured wood like that locally. I live north of Kansas City and at least I am lucky enough to have a good saw mill nearby, can get walnut, cherry and maple, even in wide boards pretty easy, but its pretty rare that he gets anything like that in.

Re: Vectric User Group Meetings – Sold Out
I will be going to Dallas, glad to see there is a good turnout planned. I think I have been doing pretty good in the short time I have had Aspire but want to learn more. It will be interesting to see how many non-business users will be attending or am I one of the few crazy home shop guys that spend...

Re: new try on strong grain wood ...
The alcohol stains I have used are on gun stocks, mainly WWII era were a broken handguard piece needed to be matched up to an original piece of wood. All that I have done has been walnut, but the thing I love about alcohol stains are that you can cut the strength with alcohol, which lets you build u...

Re: Any deals at the meeting?
First I am not a businessman, just a guy that loves woodworking and I made furniture for years for myself and friends. I made enough money on projects to eventually pay for my hobby. The wife though I was nuts for buying a cnc machine and the VCarve5 program. I paid for this purchase in 6 months mak...

Re: Complete novice
Glad to see another novice. I bought a CNC shark earlier this year, bought the Aspire a few months ago and I think I am doing pretty good now and learning more every day. I dont know that I would mess with books, read the material that came with your software so you get a good understanding and then...

Re: Z depth differences - V-bit and spiral for flat clearance
I havent tried the feeler gages, I am a rookie at this but I just use a sheet of paper since most of my cutters are very small, this tends to cut down the contact area between the bit and the wood surface. Most of what I run is 1/8 diameter bits and with some of the designs I work on, being off at a...

PM Question
Probably a stupid question but I have had a few PM's and when I have tried to reply to them, they go to the outbox. And from there I get stuck and dont know how to get the reply actually sent to the person that sent me the message. Would someone please let me know how to fix this so I can respond wh...
