Re: 8.505 Changes

If you've already installed 8.502 then 8.505 will fix a few bugs that were identified with the initial version so its probably worth doing. If you are still running V8.0 still then this page highlights all the changes to 8.5 - http://www.vectric.com/products/aspire/whats-new/v85/whats-new.html Thank...

Re: 8.505 update question

Hello 4D - I have just tried this and to the best of my knowledge it should work. I saved a file from 8.505 - uninstalled it and then installed 8.502 and it was able to open it. So unless there is some magic lurking in the registry from 8.505 being previously installed then I think it should be OK. ...

Re: Post Processor for VCP ver 8.505

Yes you should be able to copy a postprocessor accross to the new version, you may want to contact support@vectric.com though so they can look into why you only have two posts.

Re: V8 Job Setup Sheet

If you download the free upgrade to V8.505 (http://www.vectric.com/products/V85.html) from your Vectric Portal Account then there is a Gadget installed automatically called the Setup Sheet Editor. This will allow you to change the logo, general color and also pick what sections you want to output wh...

Re: Aspire / VCarve / Cut2D Version 8.5 Released

Further to Brian's message from the start of the month we have now released a patch for version 8.502 for all products (Cut2D Desktop, Cut2D Pro, VCarve Desktop, VCarve Pro and Aspire) - The patch will take the software to v8.505. If you have already downloaded and installed v8.502 for any of these ...

Re: Woodworking Laser

FYI if your looking to test any lasers that have this functionality you can export the composite 3D model from Aspire by using the Model drop down menu from the top of the interface and picking "Export as Greyscale Bitmap". There are 5 output options - jpeg, bitmap, tiff and png which I believe will...

Re: Sheriff's badge

Hello Redwood, The model you bought is a cartoon representation as the artist who created it intended, as such its not symmetrical, although I'd hope with the images and the free Viewer file that you can download its possible to check this before you buy. We will refund this purchase but encourage a...

Re: topographic patterning

From the look of it I would guess that is a 3D model of the wavy/blob shape and then its been finish machined with a large tool and large stepover hence the lines in the surface. Certainly you could do something similar in Aspire but would need to model the wavy shape. There are a number of approach...

Re: Wagon Wheel

I don't believe you can save 3D Data from Aspire in the CRV format, I think that only supports vectors and 2D/2.5D toolpaths. You'll probable need to export an STL file if you want to share it for someone with VCarve to use it.
Thanks,
James

Re: Just curious

Steve is correct... to avoid this try increasing your Boundary Offset so its larger than your tool radius plus the allowance. Example if your using a 0.25" diameter tool and 0.03 allowance try a value bigger than 0.125+0.03, I would probably go with 0.18 for some added room.

Cheers,
James

Re: ASPIRE CAMP PHOTOS

I would like to add my thanks to Jim for hosting and Michael M for all his organizational work as well as saying thank you to the rest of the speakers and everyone who made the trip to attend. I think it was almost certainly the biggest and best "McGrew meeting". It was great to have such an interes...

Re: Carvings we wish we could do

Dale, I'm jealous of you getting to see such nice carvings and visiting Thailand. We have a local Thai restaurant that has a lot of this type of work on the walls and in the table surfaces (with glass over). I like to go there for both the food and to take a look at the carvings. Thanks for sharing ...

We're looking forward to the meeting this week and Beki and I are putting the finishing touches on the topics we'll be covering on Friday and Saturday. As a bit of a teaser here is a photo of some of the things I'll be working through at the meeting. There is a good mix of ideas with a variety of dr...

Re: different toolpath in text

Hi Dale, assuming your using V8 you can use the Convert to Curves icon when your test is selected to convert it to normal individual vectors these can then be grouped/toolpathed as you would like to use them. The image below shows this icon highlighted with an orange box. Once you convert to curves ...
