Re: Pocketing

One thing I have done to avoid this problem... design a couple of small pockets in the material that will be waste. Use them as test cuts using the same pocket toolpath settings. You can cut one then make whatever change you need before you do the real pockets.

Re: Shelf pin holes along a curved path?

The 'Align Objects' tool will sort of do what you want. You need to create the curved line first and 'Copy along Vector' your circles at the spacing you want. Then create the straight line, highlight the circles and 'Align Objects" to the straight line. When you copy the circles along the arc they w...

Re: Cargo Box for my new Electric Motorcycle

The craftsmanship is very good! My concern would be unsecured weight in the box could shift and throw the rider off-balance. Be very, very, careful!

Re: Inlay on a curved surface

I haven't tried this on a model, but what if you cut the v-carve tool path and apply some resin before you cut the model? Maybe cut do a rough cut on the model and then the resin. Just a thought.

Re: Easy Euro Door Hinges Maker

This looks great, thank you!

I installed it and when I clicked on 'Help' under the 'milling' pop-up it opens help in Internet Explorer even though my default browser is Chrome. Maybe nothing happens if you don't have Internet Explorer installed? Just a thought, I could be wrong.

Re: Confusing Results

You didn't say what the dimensions were supposed to be. Perhaps the bit is not actually .25". Make sure you are cutting outside, inside or on line depending on which you designed it to be. You can get some bit deflection depending on your speed and feed. It could be a hold down issue. Maybe your box...

Re: Roughing w/ V bit

Could you set your z-zero higher than your surface for the 'roughing' pass? Then change set the true z-zero to the surface. Just a thought... I could be wrong.

Re: 3D roughing boundary issue

When you create the roughing toolpath you should be able to set the boundary offset to -.25 (the diameter of the bit.) That should keep the bit within the vector. I'm using Aspire but I believe Vcarve should have the same option.

I would use the Extrude and Weave feature. Offset your piece to create the center of the model and create a .25" arc. Great tool.
