Thank you vectric, two days short of cutting again and this will make a good start. Much appreciated.

Also make sure that the machine is tuned to the optimum in Mach 3. I had similar problems when I fisrst started and found it to be that.

Re: Paint Mask- Bit question
I have found that if you paint the letters and then try to paint the foreground with a foam roller there is a certain amount of bleeding into the cavity which I then have to touch up with a brush. Hope this helps.

Re: Finishing advice needed.
I would go with Danish teak oil or tung oil or something similar because it is easy to renew the wipe on finish.

Re: engraving in granite tiles
I used a 90 degree diamond drag with quite a bit of success and also carbide tipped bits for shallow cuts just to get past the high gloss surface. Only went down about .5 mm.

Re: Cogs and Gears
I have been struggling for ages trying to cut cogs and came across "Brian Law Clocks". He has several models for downloading and they are different sizes. The beauty of his are that they all mesh and have different number of teeth. Hope it helps.

Aluminium
Hi, Every time I try to cut letters into aluminium I get these little raised edges around the letter where the bit has cut. I almost seems as if the bit is not cutting but just digging in and raising the centre like a can opener. I can sand them down but this spoils the appearance of the surface I a...

Re: using shark pro w/v carve pro - having crazy issues
I don't have a shark pro but I was having very similar problems only to find the machine was not tuned properly velocity and acceleration etc. Once I went into Mach and set all the parameters it worked fine and haven't had a problem since, touch wood.

Re: Cutting on a slope.
Viktor, I have attached the G code but I do not hold much hope that this is a software problem. I thought that the Z axis may have been binding a bit and just gave it a fine coat of powdered graphite grease. May make some difference. Fleming, Before making my last cut I leveled my spoil board with a...
