Re: Laser + CNC
Doug, that is stunning. I know what you mean about painting. Especially when you think about screwing it up and having to start over from scratch! About your base, you could add some springiness to your slot by intentionally oversizing it and adding several smaller slots next to it. Bend the wall wi...

Re: 76 Degree Pyramid on board
Grant, in the Show notes, the guy mentions that there isn't audio. I think he also mentions that this video was just an example for a subscriber and not really meant for general distribution.

Re: Modeling Tab
You posted this in the Vcarve forum, so I assume you have Vcarve. You need to have Aspire to create components.

My groups always show no matter what sheets they are related to.Toolpath Groups & Sheets
Toolpath groups are not associated with any sheet and so will be shown in all circumstances.

You might try it again without the option to "project onto a 3D model" selected. I don't see a 3D model.

Re: Rotate an object to align one side to a line or axis?
There's also an Angled Guideline function in the right-click menu from a vector to determine the movement angle. Choose Guide Lines, Insert Angled, Through two points. Choose one point on a prospective vector, then the other end. The resultant guide line shows the angle when you right click on it. A...

Re: Picture frame/moulding toolpath issue
Grant, I was able to create your moulding frame (once I figured out that the outer vector was split more than once) by: starting with a closed vector add a horizontal guide somewhere besides the corners in node edit mode (zoom way into the intersection), cut ( C ) the outer vector at opposite points...

Re: Picture frame/moulding toolpath issue
Grant, your file previewed without error on my system. However, there is something wrong with the rail which shows up in the moulding in the upper right and lower left. The moulding doesn't match the next segment. You can see that in the rail markers. EDIT: Oh, I see what it is now. That outside squ...

Re: Looking for Draw Curve Tip
... The "S" key also unsmooths nodes, but not very consistently. ... I really like the ability to drag select many nodes and smooth them all at once.... Never noticed points changing back to smooth while moving them in edit mode. Just tried it now and they didn't do that. Got a chance to play with ...

Re: Aspire V11.55 is OUT NOW
I have to say it is a relief to see the laser toolpaths become part of Vcarve Pro, finally! Even if it still is a separate module.

Re: Looking for Draw Curve Tip
I'm away from my computer so I can't create such a detailed reply, but my point starts as your question ends. I'm usually fixing problems with fonts that the validator indicates; intersections etc. So, once I do change a misshapen curve etc. or move the recently changed non-smooth point, it will cha...

Re: Looking for Draw Curve Tip
A similar irritation occurs during NODE editing where when I move nodes they go back to being "smooth", and I have to take that off again to adjust the curve to fit.... every point is assumed to be "smooth" ...
