I just started playing with a rotary on my Shark and my first rounding toolpath hit the edge of the block like yours shows in your photo, I have not investigated if it is the setup procedures nextwave provided or the PP.

Scott I got the 30 degree bits after your last post, cheap ones on Amazon, I attach a shot of my settings. I used a 1/32 TBN first followed by a 20 degree .0157 bit I had laying around. Trying new bits

A carve I tried with a new 1/8” shaft 30 degree engraving bit with a .005 tip. I don’t know the wood species but it’s heavy.

I would try a shallower depth of cut, I would never try going deeper than .1 on a 1/4" EM because of the deflection in the Sharks gantry.

Nextwave is still not listed as compatible with the laser module, search the forum and you will see what others have found.

You also have to think about wood movement depending on how much material you have removed , humidity and temperature.
