Re: Tool Path Error

Check for open vectors by clicking on the "edit" button and then select all open vectors. if you have an open vector, it won't cut, and will tell you the tool won't fit. I drew it quickly and tried it and it worked just fine. I'm leaning towards either an open or perhaps a duplicate vector that is m...

Thanks.

When painting, does anyone use an airbrush? I have one, but have never used it :(

Just wondering if it would be worth the trouble to learn how,,,

Re: Cutting Board for Daughter Birthday

Information, for what's it's worth. You may or may not agree... I emailed the Bob Smith Industries (that makes the brand of epoxy I use) about them being food safe. This is what I got back from them... Sorry for the delay in my response. I was on vacation. The Slow-Cure is food safe as long as it is...

Re: how do you load a picture of your work

At the bottom of the post is a link "Upload Attachments". Click on that. 'you will have to have the picture on your computer (don't know anything about using phones, sorry) Then click on "choose file", then on "add File", and then I think, on the "place inline button" and it should load. Check preve...

Re: New update

Thanks Gary,

That's what their customer support suggested as well, so I did, and now it seems to work fine. Thanks everyone for their suggestions.

Re: New Text Still Shows Old Text in Toolpaths - Why?

It's hard to keep track of your steps! But if you want to change a tool path and add a new vector, double click on the tool path you want to redo, from the tool path list (bottom right corner), click on the 'new' vector to hi-lite it, and then click on calculate. Then go up and click on the 're-calc...

Re: Leaf Bowl from tutorial

Almost. I have access to the tutorial through the video lineup on the Aspire/Vectric site. What I'm looking for is the file with all the tool-paths.

thanks

New update

When I try to look at some of the files that get posted, I get the following error:

Any ideas before I head off to bug the Aspire people?

Re: Leaf Bowl from tutorial

I thought that one time, there was the file posted for this project - either in the newsletter or project of the month - but I can't find it anywhere.

Does anyone know if it was posted, and if so, where it might be?

Appreciate any info that might be out there!

Re: Spoilerboard. Please help

You didn't say how big your spoil board is. IF it is big it may not be laying down flat when you surface it, causing differences in the finish. You can screw it down (even in the center, if you countersink the screws) to make sure it is flat to the table. Just don't skim enough to go deep enough to ...

Re: First try at an inlay

When you say a 3/32 gap, is that between the base and the top piece?

On mine, I end up with a 'flange base" after cutting the inlay piece and I'm assuming that is what you are talking about.

You don't want the inlay to 'bottom out' as that may interfere with the glue joint.

Re: First try at an inlay

Is the 90 deg one of choice? I've used 60 deg with success. Seems that 90 would loos some fine detail or make it really shallow, which could be an issue when it is cut off and/or sanded. You don't want it to be flush when gluing it, you want to be able to press it down firmly, and then clean off the...
