1. How do you insure that the edge of your project is parallel with the X axis of your CNC machine?

After installing the bed on the machine I used an old Vbit and cut light grid lines in the bed with the router. Just line your material up with the grid and clamp in place. Works for me.

You said this is your first project. Is it possible that the Z axis travel has not been calibrated quite right?

I have had great results from another Lee Valley 60 deg bit. This bit cuts clean on my machine with very little cleanout required and less than half the money of the other.
