Re: Making a pattern

Forgot to mention that you can also create a few circles, select them and then copy/paste or ctrl drag to create another set of circles.

Re: Adding new tools to library

Welcome. The tool database is covered in the Help (Help menu, Help Contents) starting on page 61. Once you've clicked New you then have to choose what type of tool you want to create from the Tool Type drop down list on the right of the form. If you haven't come across it yet then the support site a...

Re: Making a pattern

Bring up the circle tool, type in the radius or diameter you want and then click where you want the circle placed. Keep clicking until you're finished.

VCarve has tools for creating multiple copies (array copy) of a shape but Cut2D doesn't have these tools.

Re: post Vcarve help from Aspire?

Currently the only thing you can do is to export the vectors as EPS or DXF files and the toolpaths as templates.

Re: Relief Carving with Aspire

There is a special tool for creating the vector boundary. It's on the modelling tab and is called "Create Vector Boundary from Selected Components".

You can select multiple vectors (try the offset tool) and the toolpath will only machine between the vectors.

Re: QUESTION: How do you copy and paste a toolpath?

Set the vectors up so that each set of vectors for each toolpath is on a separate layer. Now go into each toolpath and use the vector selector to associate that toolpath with the correct layer, make sure to set it to automatic. To copy the vectors with the layers intact you will need to group them f...

Re: Shark Mako 0,0,0 problems

Sounds like your Z is losing steps somewhere so where it thinks it is really isn't. Go over your machine very carefully and make sure there is absolutely nothing loose or binding on the Z. If you can't find anything try slowing the feed and plunge rates down in case you're pushing the machine too ha...

Re: Tip for Tracing Black/White Bitmaps

For that particular image I'd just use a VCarve toolpath on it. That works with a double line and is what the trace tool is primarily designed for. It looks like there are quite a few stray nodes and breaks in that trace though. It would be worth spending some time in node edit and with the vector j...

Re: Paradise Box Tray Help

As David says it's the squares in the attached picture that are causing the problem. It's something to do with that pocket vector inside the squares. I created just one toolpath for that vector and you can see the squares are still there. If you perform any sort of editing operation on the vector (a...

Re: another learner with problems

You don't need to do it as a series of toolpaths. You only need to create one toolpath set to cut the overall depth you want, usually the thickness of the material. The software will then work out automatically how many passes are required to cut that using the pass depth specified in the tool datab...

Go to http://support.vectric.com all the common issues are covered in the FAQ there. The Help Contents (in the Aspire help menu) is also a great source of information. The picture on the first page is interactive so you can click on the item that is causing you problems (in this case the roughing to...

If you don't have MS Office installed you could try this free program that I use. Right click on the image file and you get an option on the menu to resize pictures. I use the medium option for the forum.
