Re: Gtech 2.8 laser
Thank's Gary Can you tell me which post processor you use for laser and where you downloaded it? I was told by J tech to download the post-processor from the cloud on Vectric but when I downloaded all of them the only two for Xcarve were inch and mm, which I already have and nothing for laser My ma...

Re: Gtech 2.8 laser
Thank you wb9tpg I have a spindle, and I have set $30=255 $31=0, and $32=1 I am using Picsender and it is set to laser vectors but when I click on the button (check laser) both the laser and spindle come on I really need to read something that I can start from scratch again to learn what I am doing...

Re: Gtech 2.8 laser
I have the 4.2W and it works fine. Your CNC needs to have to 0 to 5v pwm output to vary the intensity.
I have a shspeoko which is grbl. I set $30 and $31 values once then set $32=1 for laser jobs and 0 for cutting jobs.
Do you have a spindle or router?

Re: Calculations in Post Processor
Is there any documentation re: the use of Lua script in post processors? While there is no end-to-end example in the documentation, the SDK documentation references the post processor methods: GetPostProcessorLocaon() pg 39 VectricJob.PostProcessorParameters pg 45 R/O - returns the utParameterList ...

Re: Calculations in Post Processor
BTW. Is there any documentation re: the use of Lua script in post processors? I'd have never thought of using SCRIPT / ENDSCRIPT as an enclosure or that there exists a "PostP:OutputLine()" method. I makes me wonder what other methods are available? What does the "false" in PostP:OutputLine() contro...

Nice adze, now
now you could add an if statements to accommodate the origin being in different places (like material center). LOL
See it never ends with programming

Re: Calculations in Post Processor
It’s possible to do that inside the post processor itself using programming. I'm not sure that I completely understand your concept of "programming". The post processor is in g-code and editable in any text editor like Notepad. Near the bottom there is a section called "Footer". I just edited my PP...

Re: Laser Etching on a 3D surface
2. Did you wright a macro (g-code) to move the laser head or are you using the xydatum + offset in the Material setup screen. I use a post processor I modified that sets the offsets using Gcode automatically. It also sets the CNC in Laser Mode. So I just select that Gcode and run it. I do find Z mo...

There is a reset button on the control unit. Press it if the fan on the laser is not running.
