Morning my, I'm not sure that you are not trying to hard here. Before changing anything, I would check with your material supplier and see exactly what they are supplying. I opened your file. Click on "join Open Vectors"

I changed the tolerance to .008 selected the vector and hit join and it worked.

Magnus,

What he is saying is that since he is grinding the bearing mount off the cutter, the center of the cutter has nothing to cut the material away and the cutter will not plunge into the work. You must "ramp" the cutter into the material.

How about simply what it is....

Tapered inlay.

I find it easier to learn things when the names are what you are trying to do.
