Re: Puzzle piece doesn't come out right
Except when I do stupid stuff, like put the wrong tool in the machine This kind of things *never* happens to me. Imagine an urgent job, a 2x3 m machine table, nearly full of workpiece blanks made of a PU board in a particular thickness, coming directly from Germany with some delay because...

Re: Isel Post Processor
Hi,
Could you post the gcode that crashed?
The age of the machine vs age of the software is not an issue. A CAM software internally computes the path in its own "language" then translates it into the machine language according to the postprocessor you choose.

You're probably confusing it with Blender. GIMP is an image editor.KCarpenter wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:58 amGimp is also free. It's a true 3D Modeler/Animation software.
Doug, can you post an example of what you would like to have in Cut2D? Post a snapshot of a WordArt example you would like to produce in Cut2D.

Re: Job size resolution
Does this happen only on this model?
Are the previous models still correctly carved with the version of the file including this model?

Re: Modeling Resolution
I can't test as I don't own Aspire anymore (I now own Vcarve), but I'd bet that if you import a low resolution stl in a high resolution project and begin sculpting it, your modifications will occur at high resolution. Easy to test.

Re: Modeling Resolution
John,
AFAIK, you're right.
See this post and download the doc:

As Tex-Lawrence, I don't know how to find the modeling resolution of a component in Vectric software. Maybe in Meshlab for stl, but I never gave it a try.

Re: Sanding discs
I think it's worth experimenting. Could be useful. With a palm sander, you control the pressure you're applying. Which is not the case with a CNC, which controls coordinates. So you'll probably have to use a very small path depth to avoid applying too high a pressure, as it will only be limited by t...

Hi Steven,
I don't see a link to v1.18. Is it me or did you forget it?
Obviously, one of us needs some coffee

Re: Drill chuck for PorterCable 7518 router
What about fire? My thoughts: Why not cut the shaft off to a shorter length and put straight into the collet chuck? Jim That's probably much better. But these bits are not balanced for high rotation speeds. If your spindle can't run at a very low speed or if you forget to slow it down, be prepared ...

Re: laser power and speed test file
Have a look at these files: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:728579/files What do you mean by a "test file that will work in Aspire" and "A gcode extension file would be great"? If you get a gcode file, Aspire won't be necessary and if you get an Aspire readable file, you'll be able to generate g-c...
