Re: Why the difference???

Thanks for the response, Wes. I made this set with a two rail sweep using the blueprints from Colt so the center height should be the same the entire length. I made sure I did not check the "scale cross section with width" box. I have been working on these for a week or so, off and on, and I have ha...

Why the difference???

The attached photo is a screen capture of a set of grips. The lower grip is highlighted and I have drawn a crosshair at the highest point on the grip (the center) I had my cursor on that point when I did the capture but it doesn't show up. My question is...why is the maximum height (on the grip .183...

Need a little help plese

Okay…here is the situation. I am trying to carve some gavels on the rotary. The pictures show the roughing toolpath being executed. What you are seeing is two attempts with one being cut deeper. The gavel was, indeed, rough cut as desired except for the two “trenches” 180 degrees from the “A” zero. ...

Re: James Booth, Moving from Canada Going to UK ?

This is great news! For as long as I have been on this forum it has been a common misconception that the VectorArt3D models came from Vectric. See, you have solved the problem. I have always thought the two companies went together like...well...like bangers and mash! I offer my congratulations...

Re: Cutting is inconsistent

The simulation on my computer looked good. Vectric has a strong history of the simulation looking exactly like the finished product. I looked at your crv file and, other than the small details about flat area bits, etc I didn't see any glaring errors. Since I was not struck with a Devine inspiration...

Re: Vectric Labs!

I am are not sure about the commercial viability of this, maybe we should do a poll to find out how many Aspire owners would want to connect a Kinect to their PC to play with this. Brian Hmmm...and I quote, “There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home.” — Ken Olson, president, cha...

Re: Aspire user manual?

Get ahold of HoustonFireFox on this forum. See manual. He does manuals for each updated version and they are very professionally printed and bound. I have two of them and wouldn't be without them.

Re: cut out pass

XRay,
I kept cutting into my spoilboard and couldn't figure out why. Then I measured my Z pad and found that it was .4987 (I think) instead of the .505 that was in the ini file. Once I made that change everything worked out just fine.

That is very nice! How long did it take? I am working on a cane but can't get the time down under 7 hours.

Re: Fooling Around & Learning at the Same Time...

Boomer - Great job on one of my favorite weapons! REJ, The problem with doing that is the left and right sides are different...even the grips are different. To make it look right a person would have to model both sides. But then, John Dillinger escaped from jail with a pistol he made from a bar of s...

Re: Techno CNC Router

When I closed my shop and retired the first of January one of the routers I sold was a Techno. I was at least the third owner of the machine and I had it 7 years. The support from the company was unsurpassed. They didn't try to get me to buy support for a machine that was ? years old and treated me ...

In the Air Force you would be punished. That is because in the Air force no good work goes unpunished and that is, indeed, great work. I am truly impressed.

Re: Misalligned text

MG,
I tried it with the same results. Then I tried it in Corel Draw and got the same results. I then went to 1001 Fonts and their illustration of Black Chancery showed the same thing. It appears that is a characteristic of that particular font and not a problem with Aspire.
