Re: Will V Carve ever have drag and drop for EPS files?

Which version of VCarve are you using? I drag and drop EPS files into VCarve 6.5 all the time without problems. You can't drag and drop with a document open. If I want to drag and drop several files I open two instances of VCarve, drag and drop into one, cut and paste into the other. With Windows 7 ...

Re: A really stupid question (first time user)

The ARC part of the Post Processor name means that it supports output of commands (G2 and G3 in g-code) to cut arc segments (four arcs make a circle in VCarve for instance) which is more efficient than creating a series of straight line segments which is what would happen without the arc commands be...

Re: A 2D Scanner?

They're called digitizing pucks but I'm not sure how much use they are unless you're doing lots and lots of one-off bespoke jobs. The CNC machine itself has the ability to record points within most control software which can then be loaded into a CAD/CAM program. A bit fiddly for day to day use perh...

At the top between where it says FAQ and Search you should have a link that says "n new messages" where n is the number of messages you have. Click on that and it will take you directly to the private messages. You can get there by the route you were taking as well but you have to click on the Inbox...

Re: Nesting Tutorial

You do have to group the parts otherwise the nesting process may break them out into separate items as they overlap. Only vectors that are fully contained within other vectors are treated as common parts. Once you've nested and ungrouped (use the U shortcut key or make sure you use the ungroup back ...

Re: DFX file problems

If you go into node edit mode you'll be able to see the large number of short segments on the vectors. Using the fit curves tool will get rid of them but you have to have the right tolerance set.

Try deleting the waste material as I'm sure a lot of what you're seeing is artifacts of the image itself.

This is mine. The outer tracks are wider than 4ft and are used to hold down a full 8x4 sheet.

Re: How to layer different cut depths with overlapping vectors

It all depends on what you have showing in the Layers dropdown list rather than what you have visible. In your original example if you turned off the "Profile - Cut Thru All" and "Pocket - 0.032 cut depth" layer but have the "Pocket - 0.032 Cut Depth" layer as the active (the layer displayed in the ...

Re: Shenk diameter vs cutter diameter

Welcome.

The shank size doesn't matter to the software. The diameter you enter when creating a new tool or editing an existing one is that of the cutting portion of the tool. So in your case you would enter 0.0625 as the Diameter (D).

Re: How to layer different cut depths with overlapping vectors

When you join vectors you are in essence creating a completely new vector that will be placed on the active layer. That is what you're seeing. It's better to do all the vector editing you need before placing them onto layers or to make sure that the active layer is the layer you're working on at the...

Re: Tool Database Support

I can't find the thread but from what I remember the later version was a minor one only to address an issue that very few people would come across. The Trial version for download is 1.025.

If you really want it then the best thing is to contact support@vectric.com and ask.
