Re: Adding Amana tool 56144
The file they supplied is not useable. The line for the tip is not level, and the vector is made of hundreds of nodes.

I created the correct vector and saved it in this CRV file,

Re: Molding toolpath with rotory axis
On one of the Wednesday night gatherings on CNC Router Tips Milo Scot demonstrated a continuous turning process similar to the moulding toolpath but doing side-cutting. I can't find the recording right now. Bill Griggs on CNC Router Tips might be able to locate it.

Do you have a Zero plane defined? If not adding one may help.why it's plunging when the offset is less that the radius of the tool.

Are X and Y zeroed to the lower left of the machine?
What post processor did you use?
Can you Zip and attach the toolpath file (probably ends with .SBP)

Can you explain a bit more what you want to do?is there anyone who can and wants to help me write the piece of code for moving between x0 and y 0? I can't find how to do it thank you in advance
Is it just swapping X for Y, and Y for X? If so, that is very easy to do in the post processor.

I chased my tail for 3 days and who knows how many ruined parts from that same issue.I measured the tool just after posting and yes, I had loaded the wrong one
I have only sympathy -- no shame.
Been there, done that.

Re: Best Default Pass Depth
Also, when using compression bits, my current 1/16" D.O.C. doesn’t get the upcut portion of the bit below the surface on a plunge, so I use lead-ins and ramps to help with that. Compression bits are designed to cut in a single pass. If your machine and hold down is sturdy enough, try a single pass....

Re: How To: Continuous Rotation & Indexing
The X or Y move speed (depending on whether your rotary is parallel Y or X) is translated into a rotational speed. Consider a 4" diameter piece of material that is parallel to the X axis. Y moves will be translated into rotary moves. The circumference of the cylinder is: 4 X 3.14 = 12.56 A Y move of...
