Re: Pocket toolpath allowance

set a much larger value, give it a go, and then check the size on the preview by moving your cursor around.
Even after using the software for years I still do this to refresh my memory on how something works.

Re: Nesting!! Can we do something about it?

There is an open source nesting program (free) that might be worth looking into: DeepNest It is particularly suited for laser work, but should work with router CNC as well. From their web page: Automatic line merging Deepnest packs your parts into a compact area to save material and time. It automat...

Re: V12 for Mac Silicon, please?

I've never really used RDP, but might give it a try.
I used it for years with no problems. You do need Windows Pro or Enterprise since the Home version does not support RDP.

Re: V12 for Mac Silicon, please?

Short answer: You won't see native MacOS support until Vectric switches to a software development framework that supports multiple OS development. Changing to a new framework is a lot of work. Long explanation about software development frameworks: A software development framework is a structured s...

Re: Upgrading laptops, using same software

From the FAQ: Vectric's license allows any of our software programs to be installed on up to 3 PC's for a single user. If access to any one of the computers is shared with work colleagues, or anyone who is likely to access the software, then the software must only be installed onto one computer. We...

Re: Training Recommendations

I recommend Mark Lindsay's videos on YouTube. He starts with the very basics and goes through advanced concepts. You can pick and choose the topics of the various videos. I'm sure he will add V12 specific content soon after it is released. I also recommend Michael Mezalick's 3D modeling videos. All ...

Re: Fanuc F16L Laser post processer

I am not sure what G00G40 does but looks to be after every laser deactivation. Cutter Compensation Cancellation (G40) Function G40 is used to cancel cutter radius compensation initiated by G41 or G42. It should be programmed after the cut using the compensation is completed by moving away from the ...

Re: ROTARY MOLDING

I agree that the moulding toolpath can initially be a bit confusing for those of us with the rotary parallel to the Y axis. The main thing is that the profile shape still has to be positioned parallel to the X axis even though it will be driven the correct way. To keep my own sanity I always ensure ...
