Or perhaps it was an artistic choice to demonstrate how a friendship can fill in life's designs.(Just now noticed one of the weaves is missing on the friendship plaque - perhaps you forgot to select the vectors for that one pocket Toolpath?)

Re: Scratches & Edge Issues
According to the OP's profile he has a CAMaster which is a pretty solid machines.
My guess is some looseness or binding in the Z axis.
It might be worth posting the question on the CAMheads forum, and/or a call to CAMaster tech support to troubleshoot the Z axis.

Re: Need some advice before upgrade to V12.
Because in my understanding, I will have purchased the v11.5 upgrade and not the v12 upgrade (regardless getting the free v12 later). From the FAQ: If you upgrade your software to a new version (not a new product purchase) you will get a bonus 3 months FREE upgrade period (as a 'safety net' in case...

Is there a reason that the XY Datum has to be in the Lower Left for Tiling? This is just a guess, but it probably made it easier for the programmers to handle a solution where everything was relative to a single point, and they chose XY in the lower left as the standard. You can always submit a fea...

Acrylic paint -- still had a bit of bleeding even though I sealed it
Font: Curlz (free font) -- hence some of the odd sections
About 27 minutes of machine time with a 60° V bit and a 1/4" end mill.

Re: Job Setup Z zero position machine bed
And in the Cnc control software , I also set z zero on the bed? I don't have your machine, but on my machine, yes, I would set Z0 to the machine bed/spoilboard. Also, using a downshear (downcut, downspiral) bit will reduce tearout because it pushed the wood fibers down while it cuts. Example bit: -...

Re: Job Setup Z zero position machine bed
I would like to clarify that I want more than one pass because I think it will minimise tearout. If your thickest material is 3.3mm and you are aiming for 2.5mm, then the deepest cut is only 0.8mm. (That is 0.0315" for those who use inches). I'd be surprised if 2 passes of 0.4mm gives less tearout ...

Re: Importing an STL
Watch for undercuts. You may need to change the model orientation to get the best machining strategy. It is well worth the time doing previews with different orientations, and with different tool settings. Ultimately the Milo Scott continuous turn method is much faster than the standard 3D toolpaths...
