Clipart advice

Season's Greeting to All & all the Best in the New Year. Does anyone know a good way to take a color GIF & transform it into a useable vector format for VCarve? It would be OK if it just became line-art. I do not need lots of detail. Tried the trace with Inkscape but it did not work right (could be ...

Thanks guys. I think on this project I should run separate files, just to be safe, & yes the order is important, but I will try the one file thing on a test piece later. I am not very versed in editing g-code, so I probably wouldn't know a problem when I saw it. So, what is the main purpose/process ...

Pocketing Toolpath File

Hi All: I need to pocket three different areas. Will be using the same 1/2" endmill, but each pocket has a different depth. When I go to save the toolpaths I have the option of putting all toolpaths to one file. Does that mean that I can uplaod the file as one & it will cut all three pockets in the ...

Thanks CLyon:
That was simple, but I had to ungroup about 300 holes to get the one only. No if there was only a way to change all the hole diameters as a group at one time.
Thanks again.

After Resizing problems

Hi to all: I have a design I have cut many times but needed to resize it to a larger format. My problem is that the original design called for many .125" diameter holes. The new design, now being resized larger will probably now have larger holes. How can I determine what size the new holes will be,...

Dasch:
Welcome. What part of Vancouver Island are you from?
I have tried Rhino, but don't find it very easy to learn. Had a quick look at Silo, looks like it might work a little easier. What types of things do you design? Have you designed anything in Silo then cut it in Cut3D?
Thanks.

CRFultz: CorelDraw is not very user freindly as well. It would be nice if VCarve could edit more like a drafting program. The CRV file I am trying to edit has very thick lines so when I try to put it in TurboCad if appears that there is a whole lot of closed polylines making up the thick lines. Very...

Tony:
That worked, got it into CorelDraw.
Is this the right format to do editing/modifying of the picture?
I can select objects & delete them but how to I cut lines, delete the areas I don't want then tie in new lines & objects?
Thanks.

Editting a CRV file

Hi All: I sure wish VCarve had some serious vector editting tools. Here's my challenge. I have a CRV file gotten from one of many free files off this forum (thanks) that I need to edit & modify but can not seem to find a good way to do this. Tried exporting the file as EPS & opening it in CorelDraw,...

Thanks guys: I forgot about the origin spot. If I create a crv file then clip & paste another crv file into the original file will I experience any weird cutting starting points? How would I verify that when I set up my cutter & press start to cut file that my start point is in the center of the wor...

Adding a CRV file to another CRV file

Howdy All: I have a project that requires aspects/designs to be combined from two different CRV files. How do I open one & then add the other file as an entity within the first file? I will then rename & save for toolpaths. I have tried the import command but VCarve does not recognize the crv format...

Project setup/design suggestions

Howdy all: I have a project where I have to make 36 name tags (on one sheet). All will be the same size, all will have the same design/shape, but each tag will have different lettering. What is the best way to setup/design this project. Should I do it all in VCarve, or should I draw it all in CorelD...

Thanks James: I understand some of what you are trying to explain, I quess I will just have to play a bit to fully understand your plan. It would be great if these two programs could work a little more synergetically with each other so one could go back & forth in the design process. I did notice th...
