Box gadget taBS
I used the box gadget to create a box using tabs (not dovetails) Previewing the tool paths I noted that it does not cut through all the way around the piece but I thought this must just be tabs. When I ran my box using a compression bit the "tabs" are almost an 1/8 thick and quite long. Is this norm...

making holes from a measured point
I'm wondering if there is a way to measure from a point, a specific distance and insert a hole, or a line or whatever. I can use the measuring tool to measure something that already exists but I'm looking to drill holes in specific spots, repeatedly. Trial and error until it where I need it is not a...

If the material that I'm using is 3/4" thick and I want to drill two holes in each tab 3/8" from the edges, Is there a way to set this up that can be copied to each of the six box pieces. Re: Making a box with fit together edges
Thank you sooo much Adrian. That is exactly what I was looking for.
I knew that this had to be something that other people have done in the past I just didn't know where to look.

Making a box with fit together edges
I am trying to make a box out of plywood where the pieces fit together with tabs, kind of like a puzzle. For example where the top meets the sides the top may have one center tab that would set between two tabs on the sides. Doing this wherever one face meets the other. I looked but could not find a...

Re: Importing files to Vcarve
Thank you Michael I have gone back to other software and exported in stl making sure that the correct unit measure (mm vs inches) was selected both exporting and when importing in Vectric. That seems to be working although I've never dealt with stls so a little bit of learning to be done here. The r...

Re: First run
It seems that no matter what corner I Auto zero off of I can't get the entire project onto the board.
Is this a homing issue?

After entering the Gcode file when I try to run it, my Z axis moves to the left and faults against the stop. What am I doing wrong? I ...

Re: Inserting a hole
Forgive me but I still don't get it. I need the above mentioned holes 1 3/4" from center and 4.9mm from the top edge on each side.
Isn't there a way that I can measure from the center and down from the outside?

Inserting a hole
I am attempting to make a small wedding ring box that will be using 8mm barrel hinges. I need to drill two 8.2mm holes 9.9mm deep into the base and matching holes into the lid. I'm very new to Vectric and can't seem to find a way to place the holes exactly where I need to put them much less to dupli...
