Re: bake?
Ack, after 7 hours of running a file that should have been a total of about 3, the plaque bowed... It came out really nice, just bowed... almost an 1/8" in 12" And I built up the piece by gluing up several 1.5"-2" pieces, alternating grain... and then let it sit for over a week... surfaced it today ...

Re: bake?
CV setting are as out of the box with Mach 3 install... I don't want to blame the machine or Mach 3, as all other files I've run in the past have not had this issue, and I have not changed settings in Mach 3 for years (except for backlash after I rebuilt the top end last summer).. I've been running ...

Re: bake?
I split the file up into several operations, and I'm running a separate operation now which only has one tool path and that is of a 3D model bought from vector art 3D some time ago... It is running and acting normally without the issue.. So... only two possibilities remain; either it is something th...

How do you look at the nodes of a 3D file in VCP?bill565 wrote:Curious as to what it may look like in node edit. It almost sounds like many nodes are a potential if there is jerking and all tight.
Just thinking out loud.

Re: bake?
It's behaving similar to when the CV is turned off, but not quite that extreme... It also has put extra code in there.. like if it has to move from point A to point B without having to change height or direction, just go in straight line, there might be one or several intermediate code points added....

Re: bake?
Like I said, I can see Mach 3 'telling' it do do this... The cursor is moving the exact same way... It's not in the machine, but the code... and it didn't do this before on all the multitudes of 3D files I ran in older versions of VCP... But this new VCP is a whole new animal, that allows the use of...

Re: bake?
By any chance while you were machining did you happen to notice the feed speed? In Mach 3 which a lot of us use, the feed speed is a total speed of all three axis. Maybe your XY axis are slowing down for your Z to catch up. In Mach you are limited to the set speed of the slowest axis. Just a guess,...

Re: bake?
Is anyone from Vectric monitoring this thread that can shed some light on this?
PS.. I tried using 'smoothing' and then 'baking' the single base model that I made in C4D, but didn't notice much if any perceptible change in the appearance of the model... In anu case it didn't solved the problem...

Re: bake?
Bake is an Aspire function... Angie Then why did they include it in V Carve Pro? And why did they include it in the manual for V Carve Pro? This problem is still occurring... The program is generating the G CODE to tell the machine to do this.. I'm watching it on screen... I'm watching the cursor s...

Re: bake?
Another cool thing I tried (which was my other question, but I answered it myself), was that on the center piece of the plaque, where I needed more detail, I found that by using creating a boundary just for that part, I could create a second 3D finish tool path, using a 1/16" ball nose (instead of t...

Re: bake?
Never had the problem with the same 3D elements using 3D Machinist... However, I think I may be onto the problem... My plunge speeds in last nights file were set significantly slower than they had been in previous 3D carvings the old way... So I 'think' the x/y movements were slowing/stopping to wai...
