Re: Advent Calendar - Free Clipart
I have the same issue. I click on Day 7 and it shows a candy cane. I click to download and it downloads day 6 Flourish. I have tried refreshing as suggested using CRTL F5 but get the same. Even when I try a different browser and a different PC that has never been to the site. Any suggestions would b...

Re: Autodesk 123D Catch
Hi Peter, the method I use to dull down the reflectivity of an object while scanning with my Nextengine scanner was suggested by the scanners makers. Use a make up brush with the hollow handle into which is placed talcum powder, buy from any place make up is sold. Another method is to use the foot ...

Re: Autodesk 123D Catch
Peter That looks great! Did you do anything special for lighting along with the turntable? Larry To be honest Larry since I was doing everything the instructions said not too do, I thought I might as well continue in this tradition and used the flash on my camera. I got away with it in this case I ...

Re: Autodesk 123D Catch
While I don't have Aspire I have been playing around with the software and made a turn table setup. Here is the results of a scan I did, in a short video clip rotating the model. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uHuiB7b3Rs And here is the model after it was exported to an OBJ file and bought into Cut...

This might be the thread you are looking for. http://www.vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=8645 I get my lights from Ebay for less than a couple of dollars a set. Just do a search for "24 led waterproof" and you will be falling over them. I have found them in Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, white, a ...

Re: what is the best way to cut a black and white photo
Hi Baseline, The best advise I can give is to look at this thread http://www.vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8991 It gives excellent guidelines to cutting VCarves in wood. I strugged with it for ages getting ok but only rarely excellent results. reading the thread above sorted it out right aw...

Re: Cant cut out feature of file
This type of part is best machined as a 2.5D part in either Cut 2d, Vcarve Pro or Aspire as opposed to a 3D part.
Cut 3d is not designed for making parts like this.
Machined as a 2.5D part would be very quick and precise.

Re: First Post
Hi JMD,
That looks fantastic and I would really like to know how you did it.
That looks real 3D which is something that PhotoVCarve doesn't do from a photo.
Did you prepare the photo before putting into PhotoVCarve?
How did you color the Hair and eyes?
Excellent job.
Cheers

Re: Background removal in PhotoVCarve
G'day Peter, Thanks for the reply. No real problem with Gimp, but I suspect that whilst I select the background to 'White out', others select the image they want and then 'white out' the remainder. Not a real problem. I will see if I can post screen shots of the couple of funnies I am getting. Will...

Re: Background removal in PhotoVCarve
Hi Clive, The pen tool does not close like the Lasso tool. Instead run it around the item you wish to select then click 'Selection from Path'. This will close the path with a straight line and you will see your selection. Save the modified photo as a TIF file with no compression or as a BMP as per t...
