Re: Can this be done.
Thanks guys, I like the knobs Phill, that is a great idea. This machine is much more substantial then the standard workbee and includes a t-cut alu bed plus a powerful spindle not a cheap router; it had been used for metal In the past. So it may have a chance, though it is not a mill Yes your machi...

Re: Can this be done.
Hi, I made some knobs for a friend they turned out easy to make I don't know if it would help you, I started out with some 15 mm plate and cut them out using a 4 mm single flute end mill un-coated and used a little air blown on to keep clean and cool. Re: Mini grease gun
Clockman, You need to be looking for SKF grease with an NLGI grade of 2 for linear bearings . Simply bearings is where I got mine from. Don't use copper grease it is too sticky you will get missed steps with your machine. The little ball in the top of the nipple is just to stop ingress of dirt works...

Re: Combining toolpaths
This may be obvious, but I can't get it to work. If I want to pocket three 1 inch squares side by side, but want them three different depths. I make three different toolpaths and after calculating everything, I save visible toolpaths to one file. That indeed makes one file, but when I run it on the...

Re: Circle not round
I remember reading on a cnc site quite a while ago that there were some problems with the Firewire gantry, make sure each side it is trammed up square to each other and no tight spots each side to throw it out again.

Re: Text thickness
When I first started I could not find the text I wanted to portray I searched online and found one close but not same as what I wanted so I practised and drew out the letters and in doing so I learnt such a lot how to manipulate vectors there are many ways to get round a problem you just need to get...

Re: Text thickness
Not sure if I am missing something here but it is very simple and quick to draw a single line to the centre of your letter to the height and width you require then make a tool path if the width of the finished letter is not correct offset the line both ways to the width you require. The letter E too...

I would think you open the software then go to Gadgets then install new gadget when asked show it where you downloaded to install.

Re: Ball nose toolpath problem
Not sure if it can be done on VCarve but I do it often with Aspire when cutting stone. To explain I do quite a few sunken panels in stone and cut the profile first with a 10mm Diamond bull nose then clean out to depth with a 20mm flat then finish with squaring the corners with a tapered down to .5mm...

Re: Importing 3D DXF File
The issue is a DXF is two dimensional it does not have any 3D information Rhino is a 3D program and holds all the information to produce the STL model. When you import a 3D STL model into Aspire you set the size you want the finished model to be, you could open up a DXF to get the overall size you w...

Now I don't see that I think if they were to stand out more it would detract from the effect, great work I don't think you could better it.AboveCreations wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 8:58 amit is extremely hard to read the clock numbers and hands.

Jicky Jay, If you go into Application folder look for Bitmap Textures open Wood, select a wood type you want and copy it, then rename the original with wood type Vert or Hori, paste the copy and rename it Hori or Vert, select the appropriate one and with the right hand mouse button or RH context key...

Re: Prototype CNC Machine
Hi Soapy, I have some amount of controller experience I can produce a code to use on my machine at home (testing) and I can send the same code to the works machine 50 mile away for cutting, as I understand it once you have made the design code in Vectric you could use it in any machine that has the ...
