Just a thought...but are you Z-zeroing to the same exact spot(preferably near a clamp or screw), and is collet less than 400 hours and not reusing something that has had a catastrophic failure? I cheered when I saw the part about .svg import. I use Inkscape to convert black and white images to vector graphics and Inkscape uses .svg by default.
