Re: Project pictures and DXF's
I'm teaching a friend how to run my machine and we made this for his wife. Don't mind the antlers thats how he wanted them. I have the dxf's and crv files if anyone wants them. Deer are 18" to top of head ( for scale).

Re: Finishing MDF?
You can always try MDO, it is used for outdoor signs. I hear it stands up to weather fairly well if its painted.

Project pictures and DXF's
I see a lot of pictures of finished projects on the forum, which is great, but it seems not a lot of people post their DXF files. Since I believe that most of us on here do this as a hobby, I think we should share our DXF files. With that being said, here something I whipped up last week. Its a hybr...

Re: More Anchors
Did you scan the emblems? Work with a picture of them? I have Vcarve Pro (pic of them) and have engraved the E-5 emblem and the anchor, they look good, but your 3-D cut is a lot nicer.

Re: Plunge rate for bits

Re: Plunge rate for bits
If you look at the 3D view in VCarve with the Show 2D previews and toolpaths checked you can see the path the cutter is taking and it's fine. In my experience if the preview in VCarve is correct then the problem is the controller, machine or operator error. The text doesn't look right in that pictu...

Post processors in Vcarve
I have a DIY CNC machine I built from "Build your own CNC machine", I have Vcarve Pro 6.5 and I use Mach 3. My question is which Mach 3 post processor should I use from the list offered in Vcarve? I have just been using the G code which is a .tap file. It works but my engraving is a little off and I...
