I use a 40" 4k TV as my main monitor and a 32" 4k on either side for other programs. Aspire is plenty big on the 40" with all tabs / toolpaths open.

0.250 end mill for roughing and use a really small ball nose for the finish. Basswood is soft so it's going to be fuzzy. Try some MDF for practice if you have good dust collection.

Importing the database is a good starting point. As Steve said, Don't use it. Make a custom tool list suited to your machine and your school. Only give the kids access to your own custom tool list. I use indexing pins also for everything, square, jigs, etc. Maybe indexing pins no attached squares. JMO to get faster.

The gSender post processor has a feature where you can save a "workspace" and return to X0Y0 by clicking on that work space. I have several jigs set up in different workspaces. Works like a charm!

As Martin said, check all of the settings in the file you downloaded. Double check the post processor before exporting the toolpath. As a side note, Make a template that works with your machine.
