I would have to say you are the one who is great. Jumping in like you did to help get her up and running.

It is on its way you have
6 pcs of highly figured maple 2 pcs have some color of age on one side, but still good
! pc with the curl running in the opposite direction.
! pc of birdseye
13 pcs for testing, but still not bad veneer.
All pieces are 14 by 16 inches

Hi Boomer52 You were so willing to share your discovery with the rest of us that I thought I would return the favor. The veneer you see was free and it wouldn’t take much to package up a piece with some lesser quality veneer to run test on. ( well it is still nice stuff, but not as much figure. ) I ...

Re: Photoshop tricks & VCarve Pro/Aspire = photo v-carving...
This is the PREVIEW of my end result of the whole reason I started this journey...! I had a request to combine a PhotoVCarve image onto the same plaque as one I was VCarve'ing. Since I didn't have PhotoVCarve I began playing around with the applications I did have attempting to reproduce a PhotoVCa...

Re: Junk wood?
There is a market out there for green products, using reclaimed wood would fit into that category. I plan on doing urns with some of mine.

Hi Pat
If you are doing pictures to look like the one we worked on, than you would use a V bit.

Re: Junk wood?
Hi Jim Thanks for the information. I didn’t know they recalled the saws. Looks like the lawyers were busy. It doesn’t sound like a new guard is available for it. I can’t see selling them the motor, that is my favorite part of the whole machine. Back in the mid 70's my first job was at a cedar fence ...

Junk wood?
I’m always looking at wood that people are calling junk and throwing out. This stuff here was from a pallet used to ship veneer. I first cut out the good parts between the runners. Run it though the table saw for straight edges. A trip though the planer and look at the nice oak. The second picture i...

Re: PVC tool path settings changed in VCP
Hi Pat
I have seen a little bit of variation of depth when bringing it into VCP. I never has caused me problems so I have never said anything. As for a seal coat I like shellac. So I can’t say anything about the poly.

Hi
The bit should be fine as long as it cuts to a point. What setting’s are you using, Like depth of cut, line spacing, etc.?

Hi Pat
The picture will need to worked on in a photo editing program first. VCP will not crop toolpaths. I would cut a few PVC’s before you get into stuff like this. You need to know what is involved in doing PVC’s.
