Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: release

Ok, I now have the gadget appearing in the Aspire gadget list.
I select a closed vector and open the gadget and now get this error message.

Any idea?

Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: release

I have not tried it in version 10.x but as that version uses the same toolpath selection as v11.x it should work. I have also not tested it in a version less than v9.x but I suspect it might work. Choose a tool and if you get no errors it should work. I'm still in the past using V4.5 Aspire and tho...

Re: Fitting two curves like ying yang - Internal vs external radius

I stumbled upon this video a couple of weeks ago.
It's not a cnc process but it might help explain what's needed to get a good joint.

Re: Planetary Gear Clock

Another interesting time piece Tailmaker. :)
I think your move to a synchronous motor was a good one.
A few years ago I made a wooden Numerchron clock for my niece and discovered just how good the synchronous motors were at getting a reliable tick over.

........Are you contemplating selling plans for it?
If that is not discouraging, I may consider publishing the vcarve and 3d Cad files.
Not discouraging in the slightest. :)
Manually tweaking is totally on the cards with this type of project and half the fun of the challenge.

Re: The Wheel of Time (Marble Machine Video)

Tailmaker, that is simply awesome! I especially like the way that you made the tipping beams act as a gate for the single advancing ball. That gives the viewer time to enjoy the balls falling, then onto the next one. You even worked your "Puzzle My Joint" program into the design. I have one of the p...

You already have one.
Look in the "Help" menu of the program and you should find the full list.

Dimension decimal places.

I'm working on a large project and I'm wanting to place dimensions on a customer drawing. I'm designing in mm but would like the dimensions to read in m, to help de clutter the drawing. So instead of a dimension stating 1500mm, I'd like it to display 1.5m. Is this possible? Changing the "decimal pla...

Re: Help needed to indentify controller software

Have you looked on the DMM website? They have all the manuals/diagrams etc and even a Mach3 xml file you can download. You would then just use the relevant Mach Post processor with in the Vectric software. Looks like you have a Warp9 Ethernet Smoothstepper motion control card, so that should help wh...

Re: Text is backwards on rotary axis

In Mach3, "Ports and Pins" under Motor outputs, try toggling the "Dir low active" for your A axis.
This should reverse the rotation of the axis.

Re: I am looking for something to do

Hello all, Fantastic feedback and ideas from all. With the drawings that Steven sent and spending a little time with different toolpath strategies and scenarios, I understand the end result much better than before. I'll start framing up a "EasyZankMaker" gadget and will be posting something in the ...

Finding individual toolpaths within Mach3.

I have a rather large toolpath file that was generated in Aspire. Unfortunately I've lost the original drawing, but still have the TXT file for the job. This file is made up of several lengthy toolpaths, as they all use the same cutter. Today I simply wanted to run one of the toolpaths within this f...
