Vcarve toolpath depth question

I'm attaching a .crv file. As shown, I drew 3 rectangles of the same size. I ran 3 vcarve tool paths using the same 60° v-bit. In the first, I simply selected the rectangle and created a vcarve toolpath. No starting depth, max depth, no clearance tool. The max depth is shown as .2165". When looking ...

Open the PDF file directly in VCarve. Don't try to import it.
I'm not the OP, but thanks for that. Learn something new every day. I see that it creates a material size to fit the design. Cool.

Re: Trouble with Vectorized Image

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that it is only "partially inside the square". I imported it and, deleting the text, the vectors are 22" in X and 19" in Y. If you have set your material size to smaller than that, it will only be "partially inside the square". If that is the case, you can eit...

Re: Coping vectors to older version, new issue????

Just a thought, but try using ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste. That is, don't use the Vectric menu options and don't use the right mouse button click options.

Re: laser power and speed test file

If you strike out on one that will open in Aspire, look at the LAHobbyGuy site. He has an excellent set that will run in LB.

Re: Communication error with GRBL

I would bet that this has nothing to do with VCarve or Picsender. I have a grbl-run machine, powered by an Arduino Uno. Both grbl and the Uno hate EMI and static. Eliminating both of these can be and usually is a very frustrating exercise. If you machine has been running well until recently, one thi...

Re: Post Processors: Adding SHEET NAME to output

You may want to take a look at the grbl mm or grbl inch post processors. These are the ones that I use and the default name for my tool paths does include the sheet name. For example: Sheet 2_Pocket 2.gcode. In this case, I did not rename the sheet when I created it. I left it as "sheet 2". The poc...

Re: Licensing

FWIW, I just went through the licence transfer process. As part of that, Vectric welcomed me to the family and told me that if I was the only user, I could install the software on up to 3 computers as long as only one was being used at any one time.

Re-size text

I have lines of text as labels in rectangles. I need to reduce the text size. I can select each one individually, hold shift, open text and resize. However, when I select more than one label, I cannot resize it. The resize object option does not work as some of the labels are one line of text and ot...

Re: Moulding tool path - picture frame

I just wanted to close this off by thanking you again, ADZE. I ran the new and improved tool path this morning and I have a new bouncing baby picture frame to show for it. :D

Re: Moulding tool path - picture frame

Thanks very much, ADZE. I missed the part about the roughing tool path working in more than one pass.

I appreciate your help.

Re: Moulding tool path - picture frame

Are you wanting to make the passes on the outer rim of the molding toolpath step down at smaller increments instead of a full plunge once it hits the rim? I may not be understanding your question, Martin. The toolpath starts on the outside and works its way in. I would like it to do that in several...

Re: Moulding tool path - picture frame

I'm not allowed to edit my post for some reason. After posting it and thinking some, I may have a solution. I post this only to learn if I am on the right track. I figure that I need to set a 1/4" clearance bit. However, that may put too much of a strain on my machine. So, I could do the first clear...
