Charcoal pencil dust brushed into text and then sealed.

Re: Finishing for a flat surface

Another idea. Use a charcoal stick to get charcoal dust in the text. I just go a little crazy scribbling over the text area. Just a little dust is needed inside to darken the text. Wipe or sand off the surface dust. In my case I then spray some finish like poly to hold the dust inside the text. May ...

Re: Problems with Aspire V11.014

Thanks for your comments here. They are all helpful.
I organized my experiences with the 015 update and emailed the documents to support.
I suspect my problem is more my problem than theirs, but maybe they can point me in the right direction.

Re: Problems with Aspire V11.015

Same here, won't startup. No Virus software running. Uninstalled, downloaded V11 from my account and reinstalled. Same results. It appears that V11.015 is installed. Windows 7, 32 bit machine

Where can I find version .013 or .014 to try those?

Randall. Theses look very nice. Did you also create the models? They seem very well done. Lots of detail.

Re: Two Sided Mirrored Tap Handle

Seems like when I create the first side, then copy it (Ctrl-C), then move my screens to the bottom side (using the toggle button on the top) and paste (Ctrl-V) it is doing what you want. When I use the Copy to the other side command, then it is backwards because it is trying to stay behind the top t...

Use a 3/16 tool and a profile toolpath having a spiral plunge. You might like it.

Re: CNC Plastic

Looks like you might have something like King ColorCore. Plastic like that cuts really nicely. Don't use a down cut. O-flute like mentioned. I have done a lot of V carve lettering using 2 flute with no problems. You can travel fast and spin slower than you might think. Avoid pointed vee bits, rounde...

Re: tool data base

Don,
I'd start by opening the tool database via the toolpath tab icon. Then hit the F1 key and read all the information to see if it helps answer your questions.

Re: Closing Vectors

Put your pencil on the paper and don’t lift it off the paper until your lines are all drawn. Then you will have a closed vector. However, it will have to double back over itself somewhere to close.

Re: Slotters

Right, it isn't allowed. The functionality of showing undercuts isn't supported. However, you can certainly make the slots successfully. I make the cuts with the cutter defined as an end mill tool of the appropriate diameter. It works fine on the wood, just not the previews. Be sure to use vectors o...

Re: wrong text orientation

Gary,
Your text reversal sounds like a problem I had years ago, text cut backwards on the rotary. Someone found an easy answer for me. Changed the post processor by removing a minus sign from in front of the A in this line in the post processor.

ROTARY_WRAP_X = "A"

Check yours out.

Re: two side machining error

Targeting machine issues I would try an idea. After carving side 1 and then side 2, which is off by about 1/4 inch, then carve side 1 a second time and note if something has changed.
