Re: Engraving sticky mat
I have this with my engraving machine. I have used it only for diamond scratching/engraving on brass. Not sure I would feel comfortable doing anything else. Just a tacky mat.

Re: Man Cave Clock
Clock movements are from http://www.villageseiko.com/Village/ I bought several of these at a time varying hand lengths so when the mood strikes me I can make a clock. I made a few Harley type clocks but I like this clock the best so far. The clock you see I snipped off a set of the long hands to fit...

Man Cave Clock
It was a slow week at my shop so I needed something to do. This was made from a chair bottom. It is for a friend who seems to have a story about her garage. The garage was half built when the hubby gambled the rest of the monies away. So it sat awhile going through the divorce. Another guy approache...

I myself just name the first toolpath in the list. When I go to save it just uses that name to save under.

Re: Carving Time on the CNC long hours
I myself have a web cam overhead. It has panning so I can move it around from my computer. Always thought about adding one to the spindle to watch the bit too. Haven't got around this this yet. Only thing is I wish I could afford the zoom feature, but the price was beyond what I way willing to pay a...

Re: Cooling "tub"
I've done this sort of thing and found the router bit tends to sling the coolant. My fear was my Porter Cable might get damaged sucking in the mist. As far as a tub, take a look at the auto parts store. They have aluminum foil type drips pans that work well for experiments like this.

Re: Anyone care to take a stab at this flourish?
I took a stab at making this flourish last weekend. Not too bad but struggled with how to make the cuts in the leafs, if that is what one would call them. I tried base heights and so on but no luck. I also highlighted the parts/cut I wish to make. Any ideas. I think I will rebuild the leafs. I have ...

ANyone care to take a stab at this flourish?
Anyone care to give this one a try. It is beyond my skills and no time to try. This is for a buddy that is going to redo this old cabinet. I think he said it had 4 doors on it and was just going to replace all 4 flourishes since they all had issues. So if you decide to give it a go, close is good en...

Re: Colored Wood Filler or Colored Epoxy
Package said 15hrs. I would say that was about right for each color. As easy as this turned out to be, I will be doing more. Vcarve only took minutes, mixing and spreading the inlace a few minutes, then dry time 15hrs for each color. 5 minutes or so to send the sign through my planer, then sander, t...
