I have bought a set of those too and have only used them once.
Probably because I found the bits for the Dremel Tool and found it more convenient to use.

Re: question about closing vectors that share a common path
Now I am going to throw a monkey into the mix.
What if the Circle is a V-Carved Toolpath and the Triangle is an EndMill ToolPath which takes precedence along the common path???
Just a Thought!!!

Re: "Sanding" finished carvings
Sanding -- a tedious boring process but you cannot beat the end result! There is a tool (which I am surprised has not been mentioned here) I had never used until I got involved in doing 3D CNC Carvings and that is the Dremel Tool and a set of fine bits for cleaning fine details. They have definitely...

Just a reminder---
There is a gadget you can install that takes a solid line vector and creates a dashed line vector from it.

Square_Block.png Square_Block_Rounded.png Could do two-sided or just turn over block repeat the same process. Of course ends may need to be done with block vertically mounted or in another process altogether. Amana Tool 56144 Carbide Tipped Point Cutting Roundover 1/2 R x 1 D x 3/4 CH x 1/4 SHK x 2...

Re: Wedding Sign
If you insisted on using Plywood for the Sign then maybe this might be a viable option. Make a rabbeted edge on the sign itself then create a cover to fit over the sign covering the sign ply edge as in the images here. Sign_Edge_Cover_1.png Sign_Edge_Cover_2.png Or you could just put some EDGE Bandi...

Re: selected vectors have mixed z depths set
Short Answer -- One Tool path for each Pocket Depth Long Answer --- You can have different depths on the same layer but a tool path must be created for each varying depth. After all toolpaths have been created you can then MERGE all toolpaths into one toolpath. With a catch -- all previous tool path...

Re: Need help with virtual zero
I have the earlier non-pendant Version of the Virtual Zero which is limited to 5 points (four corners and the center) of tool path to be carved. Been using it since March 2016 with very few issues. The only real issue I can complain about is it had destroyed a Brand New Virgin 1/16th end mill on a Z...

Re: Safe distances and Arrays
Short Answer --- No!
Long Answer --- If you are proficient in modifying .tap files then you could modify the Pocket Toolpath to modify the SAFE Z Height to a satisfactory Z-Height within the pocket.

Re: I'm floundering here . . . help!
I am a bit perplexed and puzzled as to the issues here on this thread (as some of the other forum members may be too). First Issue ---- The Avalon sign is a tutorial .crv file with its own material board layout (7.5" W by 3.0" H by .25" T) There is really no need to resize it unless you want it of a...
