Re: Bottoming out a collet nut
A part of the checklist of things to do before running a job: make sure the bits do project far enough for the cut. For many of the jobs I run the above statement is true. Deep cuts near an outer vertical wall obviously require a bit long enough to do the cut. ColletCollision.png However, for some ...

Re: Help Engraving dots at the beginning/end of letters
After engraving the result isn't the same as in the preview, at the start/end of letters the machine seems to plunge in a little If it is not visible in the preview then there are two possibilities: The physical tool has a smaller angle than was specified in the tool database. Example: a 20° bit us...

Re: No suitable parts to nest
Ted is correct. If I place a closed vector around the open vector it will nest themMy interpretation of that info about open vectors is that you can have open vectors within a closed boundary.

Re: No suitable parts to nest
The documentation says that, but I am unable to get nesting to work with open vectors.
I'll send a note to support@vectric.com for clarification.

I'm trying to nest a closed vector. Except it is not a closed vector. Choose Edit/Selection/Select All Open Vectors Screenshot 2024-03-24 115633.png It selects the object you are trying to nest. Your best answer will come from emailing sales@vectric.com From the FAQ: Minor updates are always free to anyone who has the same major version (e.g V11.5 will be free to all owners of V11.0 software). Re: I need a design drawn....any links to paid services
Is it 2D (just vectors) or 3D (vectors and models)? A photo would help.
You can find CAD design services on gig work sites (search for cad design services) such as Fiver.com, Upwork.com, etc. Use a search term such as:
CAD design Vectric
Disclaimer: I've never used those sites for design work.

Re: Rotary machining time
If you are using a 3D model for the rotary then you may see substantial times savings using Milo Scott's continuous rotation strategy. For some jobs this method can reduce the machine time by 80%.
