Re: error message

I only have the one version, upgraded it to the most current. If I open the file from within aspire, it opens, if i go to the file directly and try to open it, i get the error code, but newer files open up correctly

Tool Database

I have done a lot of carving and one of the bits I have not used before and want to try for a new application is a tapered ballnose. Think&Tinker have what I am looking for which is a 0.0625 in, (1.59 mm) dia. 4-flute 5.4° Tapered Ball-nose Carving bit, 1.00 in. DOC, 1/4 in. shank, 2.0 in. OAL. When...

error message

I worked on this file which was started using an older version of Aspire. I saved it the other day but needed to open it back up to make some minor changes and now I get this message when I try to open it back up. Any idea how to fix this?

Re: collet for 1/8" bits

Presicebits.com has the perfect ticket for the Colt Palm Router. I bought the whole set up which was the collets for 1/8 and 1/4, the wrench and the collar. It came with a graphite cleaning kit also. These were made specifically for the Colt and I have been using mine for about a year now and am ver...

Re: Any way to set bits to same depth in router?

I think that your tolerances come into play here also. I do a lot of work with 1/8 diameter bits. Precisebits.com sells bits with collars installed, but they are only going to get you close. I use the collars and it speeds things up, but if youre doing really fine work then it may not get you close ...

Re: Has anyone used a planer to remove skinned parts ?

I have the Jet 16-32 sander and I believe this is actually made by performax, just has jets label on it. Take the time to set it up correctly and it will perform without issues. I have a DeWalt 13" planer but since I bought the sander, I dont use it much for my cnc blanks. The panel sander will give...

Re: Where could I buy bit

I have liked Think and Tinker (presicebits.com) for small cutters, i run a lot of 1/8 diameter bits and run a better collet than what came OEM

Re: Need Help Have a shark Pro

I have had my shark for about a year now, started with V-Carve, upgraded to Aspire and went to the Dallas User Group meeting which was well worth the money. I did a lot of research before I bought (I'm not a business) and the carveright looked like it had a lot of machine issues with reliability. I ...

Dust collection project

I finally got the time to start working on a dust collection setup for my Shark. A lot of my work is using small bits which tends to make a powder. I dont have this all the way finished yet, but I basically have made a box and used plexiglass in several areas to make it easier to see when its runnin...

Re: SHARK PRO RUNNING VISTA PROBLEMS

One more thing to check is the connections from the controller to the shark. I know this sounds stupid, but the plugs are a real pain in the ___ to get seated properly, it has to do with the connector type, look at them from both sides to make sure that they are seated and making a good connection b...

Re: SHARK PRO RUNNING VISTA PROBLEMS

I am not sure why you are having problems, I have a Vista machine and use Norton 360 and I have been running the you know what out of mine. I would recommend that you go to Rocklers site and they have a tech sheet they came up with for the shark which is a lot better than what nextwave sends you wit...

James does make it easy, but there is a certain amount of fun in having to figure it out yourself and its a great way to not only learn the software but improve your abilities. James stated at the user meetings that he basically couldnt draw worth a ___, he showed us some of his sketches and basical...

Re: Newbie here, thinking of boxing it up!

You can pick up a decent full size dust colector from Jet and Delta, Lowes and several other stores carry them for a fairly cheap price, they can run all day without overheating like a shop vac
