seated liberty
I have been working on a city seal design which is from the old seated liberty coins from around 1865, I cut a sample out tonight and it needs more work, I started work on this by making the various components but the human form is what seems to be the difficult part, I made the basic shape based on...

Re: 3d profile finish path not going through material
I am not sure if I totally understand you but if you pick your outside vector and use the offset selected vectors button to create another outside vector. You need to offset this vector enough of a distance to allow your carving bit to be outside of the area you want to carve. Use this new line as w...

Re: Feeds and speeds for very small Router bits
I agree with the gentleman that said go to precisebits.com I have been using their small bits for years in my shark and I know somewhere on the site he had a write up on bit speeds and how to calculate. Most of what I make is law enforcement and military emblems but I agree with the person that said...

Re: computer crashed
No Chip on my shoulder, just wasnt geting responses and most importantly I wasnt getting the upgrade information I needed to get version 4. That link has to come from Vectric and I made it clear I was a long term fan until the issues I had the last several months. James and Mark finally got this res...

Re: Service with a Capital “S”. No!!! MEGA “S”
I finally got the link for the upgrade this morning, I know one issue we had some time back was that I had sent my new email information and I dont think it got changed. I am happy to see that I finally got the link today. I am not a business owner so buying a cnc machine (with no prior experience) ...

Re: Service with a Capital “S”. No!!! MEGA “S”
I have been using Aspire since 2009 and used to love them but poor customer support over the last 6 to 8 months has me feeling pretty agitated, I got an email from Mark in early March saying he would send me the upgrade email since I didnt get the original one and I am still waiting to get it. Its k...

Re: computer crashed

I have been a long term customer and up until the end of last year was a very happy customer. After more emails than I care to count...

Re: router bits
see if precise bits has a collet for your router, i do some really fine work so most of the bits i use are 1/8". I am using a Colt Palm Router and the collet set i have for that router is very good, they make them for a few others as well and they were reasonable on their prices, much better in my o...

Re: computer crashed
I read in the newsletter about version 4 being released and how the existing users should have got an email. I never got one, nor did i get an email from this post I did back in December when my computer crashed. Long story short I finally found my code to get the software I purchased reloaded onto ...

The user name is not the issue, you have to enter a 20 digit code to finish the software installation and I didn tprint out a copy of that and I cant access the email that had it

Re: Which Software Do I Need?
JUst a note on the checkering, if you have very much of a curve, the checkering will end up lop sided. I did some grips for my .45 last year and tried cutting the checkering on the machine but didnt get good results. What I ended up doing that worked great was to use the cnc to scribe the layout lin...

My old laptop is close to crashing, usb drives are dead, didnt think it was a big issue and I reloaded my Aspire version 2 and then loaded my upgrade disk for version 3 and apperently the software code is different. Re: Why Aspire if you have Vcarve Pro, Cut3d
I have a CNC Shark also. It came with V-Carve version 5 and I made a ton of stuff with it. I looked at the high cost on Aspire and downloaded the sample software mainly to make sure my little brain could figure it out. Ended up buying Aspire and have upgraded to the latest version. End result is tha...

Two rail sweep broblem
I know there is a way to do it but I havent figured this one out yet. I am working on a set of grips for a handgun (1911) and I used the two rail sweep to set up the profile of the grips. This works great except I also need to bevel the bottom edge about 30 degrees. I wnt to add this bevel to the mo...
