Re: Feature request........

Don't do machining myself so not sure where you would need those commands but you should look at the Post Processor editing guide on the Help Menu. You might be able to create a cusomt Post Processor to do what you want. Some other users have put commands like that in the various notes boxes which a...

Re: Pocket width change on Paradise Box side panel

You could do it by node edit cutting and then using the vector tools to rejoin it but it's such a simple shape it would be far easier to just draw it from scratch. Just draw three rectangles of the correct dimensions using the existing outer edge to line them up and then use the Weld or Scissors too...

Re: Paste special command to preserve layer information

If you use the shortcut copy (Ctrl and mouse button) the layers are preserved as well.

Also make sure that when you ungroup you choose "Ungroup back onto original object layer".

Re: smooth toolpath line for a signature

That's not a very good bitmap to start with. Ideally you want it black on white rather than dark grey on light grey. Even so it's rare to get vectors that you can use with no work from a bitmap conversion. You'll need to use node editing etc to tidy it up. The other way is to use the vector drawing ...

Re: tool path

Have a look at the Pocket 1 toolpath in the attached file. Note that I had to change the stepover on your tool as you had it at 1% which would lead to a very long machining time with a pocket but as I don't mill stone I don't know if what I have it set to now would be feasible.

Are you doing a pocket toolpath? If so that behaviour is by design to stop the bit running into parts of the pocket that may be in the way.

Re: Anyone have any tips to change clearance Z height?

Not sure what Post Processor you're using but I put RAPID_PLUNGE_TO_STARTZ = “YES” in mine which enables the Z2 setting on the Material setup form. That way the plunge from Clearance (Z1) to Plunge (Z2) is done at rapid speeds if your control software supports it.

Re: working with the 3d files *.stl

Depends on what you're trying to do with the model but there is an option on the measure tool to create a 2D profile of a cross section of a 3D model.

Re: lines in toolpath

Something is different between the file you've attached and the one you ran your original preview with as the tool diameter won't give the results shown in your original picture.

If you run the file you uploaded to the forum what results do you get?

Re: Having trouble with my pockets!

If you use the Show 2D Previews and Solid checkboxes under the Toolpath list you will be able to see the parts of the design that the tools can't reach as you check each toolpath. You need to adjust the vectors there or use different tools. The vectors are very "messy" with lots and lots of nodes. I...

Re: Z zero position pocket toolpath question

I think you're getting confused with the figures you're seeing while moving the mouse in the preview window. The figures are relative to where the z-zero is. So in your example if you have the zero at the bottom of the material and you move the mouse over the material you will see a Z reading of 1 w...

Works fine for me too.

Are you running the latest version of Cut2D which is 1.5?
