Re: Molding toolpath on the inside of a closed or open vecto

I haven't watched a tutorial on moulding toolpaths for a while (I've slept since then) but I find the width of my profile and use the offset tool to create a new 'rail' the width of the profile. If it is square or rectangle I select 'create sharp corners in the toolpath. Works for me but there is pr...

Re: Trial to Actual

I believe if you license it on the same computer that you had the trial on it should allow you to use your 'trial' files. Just open one and see what happens.

Re: Two sided machining

There was a good post about the same issue on the Aspire side of the forum yesterday. Most likely you are not getting an exact placement when you flip it over. I think the beauty of two-sided design is the ability to put positioning dowels for an exact flip. Good luck! http://forum.vectric.com/viewt...

Re: Trying to create raised grid pattern

If your pocket toolpath isn't cutting the way you want create a new box around the entire grid and select your boxes and the new outline... it should reverse what is being cut. If that doesn't help posting your file on the forum is the best way to get the advice you need.

Re: Updating files date/time

When you do a save-as the "SAVE-AS" form opens. In the upper right-hand corner (under the file name is a little arrow. If you click it you will get the options on how you want to view the file. It is probably on "LIST," change it to "DETAILS" and you will have the time/date. For files already saved ...

Re: Off Center

I'm sorry if I missed it but I don't see what CNC you have. My first CNC was not very powerful and it would lose steps very easily if I pushed it too hard. It would not have cut Baltic birch or hardwood at the speeds/depth you are cutting. Every time it lost a step on the Z it would go deeper which ...

If you go to the "toolpaths" tab and click "Material Setup" you can change the rapid-z and the Home-z settings.

Spend some time going through the video tutorials
After years with Vectric products I still watch video tutorials, I learn (relearn) something every time.

Re: Lead in and lead out

if you are cutting close to the edge of your material size the 'lead-in' may not show up if it is outside the material.

Re: I need help

If you make your 3d shapes longer (width of the piece being cut plus the radius of the bit) it should work. You'll just be cutting air it looks like.

Try creating a circle around the entire thing. That should reverse what is being cut.

My concern was that the file was working fine before the patch, then after it gave me the issue. I hope that is the end of it for me. Thanks, again.

Re: Possible Pocket Bug in 9.514

You nailed it Michael. I'm cutting corafoam so I had the stepover at 90%. I changed it to 85% and it cleared it. It only caused a problem on the box I created before the update. If I moved the box to another area it was fine at 90%. Go figure. Thanks!
