Re: How to set job with long y axis to export to mach 3

Cut2d will set the dimensions but do I have to draw it on it's side and swing the text around to make it work or can I switch around in mach 3?! You might be able to rotate everything by 90 degrees in Cut2D using the Rotate tool. You can select everything using the Rotate function, then drag it rou...

Re: mach3 and cut 2d

Try this thread - http://www.vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=13817&view=next I actually tried my installation on the WinXP machine I use to run Mach3 and it works fine there. I see that I have to start messing around with the Win7 registry to get it to work on my Win7 PC. I might try that al...

Re: Bit missing from pocket

I find that if I want to stay reasonably accurate, when I get an incomplete pocket, that going to two or three decimal places and putting, say, 1.999 instead of 2.000 in the tool diameter lets the complete pocket be shown.

Re: Help setting up tool paths

Well Guys I took the best of both your ideas and put them together. I had to make some mods to the pattern to make it fit between the two end pieces. So what I did was to remove the 3 vertical pieces and make the mods I needed. I put the drawing into Cut2D and checked the 4 boxes. I found out I had...

Re: Help setting up tool paths

Hi all Attached is a piece I'm trying to setup to cut out. So here is some info about the part. The piece will start out being 1/2" thick. The 3 vertical areas will be 1/2" thick so I just need to mill around them. Everything else will be milled down to 1/4" and the triangluar pockets will be mille...

Re: Sot of ramping problem

Thanks for looking. I'll check tomorrow. I guess just cutting a straight line would be a good test. Would be the first time I'm aware its happened although there was some MDF cut recently so there was some dust around that could have gummed things up. I ran your code on an offline copy of Mach3 and...

Re: Incremental cut depth?

I've recently built my own CNC router (shapeoko.com) and am having issues using the free/opensource gcode generators. I do a lot of vector graphics, and something like Cut2D would be perfect for me as it generates the gcode cutpaths... However... I'll on ocassion need to mill aluminum. Obviously I'...

Re: Square coner parts being created with round corners

Vcare Wizard, or anybody. When I load a dxf part with square corners it shows correctly in 2D. When the toolpath using outside machine vectors is created it shows square corners but saved in Sherline (mm) the g-code is always created with rounded corners. I need square corners, how do I fix this bu...

i want to pocket and profiling with 4mm endmill + text ingraving with v shape bit on the same job is it possible to save the g code with all of different tools or shell i need to split it to different files If you change a tool specification, you have to generate a separate GCode file. But it is no...

Re: Cut2D V1.5 Released!

Just had a chance to use the new upgrade in anger today and really appreciated one small addition - the header of the GCode file containing the material sizes. The number of times up till now when I've had to go back and load up a CRV to remind myself of material sizes :D

Re: help needed by a new user

1. after moving/modifying vectors in Cut2D geometrical positioning and dimensional accuracy seems to be affected in an unintended way. For instance center distance between 2 holes drawn at 16.00 mm comes out at something like 16.30 mm in the G-code toolpaths. It's also worth checking your Mach/KX3 ...

Re: Model Railroad Parts

So far I'm just trying to get the front side correct for and the milling speeds and depth per pass right. I don't know how or what size teeth to cut in there. I also have to figure out how to flip this over, using DraftSight and Cut2D, because I have some things on the back side I need to mill so t...

Re: Model Railroad Parts

This is a test piece in MDF of the end piece for my model railroad rotary coal dumper. The final cut will be in 1/4" gray PVC. I used DraftSight (free) to do all my cad work. Also included is the mid support bracket that will go between the 2 end pieces John, That's looking good. I notice you haven...
